Welcoming a new baby into the family is always a whirlwind of excitement, love, and yesโplenty of surprises.
Everyone dreams of that heartwarming moment when big brothers and sisters meet the newest member of the family.
Parents often imagine wide-eyed wonder, happy squeals, and maybe even a soft kiss on the babyโs head.
But as any parent knows, the reality can be a little different, especially when toddlers are involved.

Jordan and Kristen Jeremias of Wilmington, North Carolina, were no exception when they brought home their newborn son.
With a camera ready to capture their daughter Ella meeting her new baby brother for the very first time, they were probably expecting some kind of Pinterest-worthy moment.
After all, Ella loved playing with baby dolls, so surely sheโd be over the moon with a real baby to cuddle, right?
Well, letโs just say things didnโt exactly go as planned.

The scene was set perfectly: little Ella, sitting sweetly on the couch, ready to meet her baby brother.
The camera was rolling, capturing every second.
As Mom and Dad moved closer to introduce the baby, they expected her to light up with joy.
But instead of excitement or giggles, Ella gave themโฆ nothing. A blank stare.
No smile, no laughter, just a look that said, โIs this some kind of joke?โ

The baby, as cute as could be, was gently placed on Ellaโs lap with adults hovering nearby for safety.
You could practically hear the collective โawwโ from everyone watching.
But if anyone was thinking this was about to turn into a sweet sibling bonding moment, they were in for a surprise.
Ella didnโt coo over her baby brother, she didnโt crack a smile, and she certainly wasnโt excited.
Her poker face could win her a championship, and without saying a word, she was clearly telling the world how she felt about this new addition.

Not wanting to give up on the moment, Mom and Dad sweetly asked, โWhat do you think, sweetie?โ
But Ella didnโt respond.
You could almost see the wheels turning in her head, though.
Maybe she was thinking, โSo, youโre the one everyoneโs been talking about? The baby whoโs going to steal all my attention?โ
If toddlers could deliver side-eye, Ella would have nailed it.

Letโs be honest, introducing a new baby to an older sibling doesnโt always go smoothly.
For some kids, sharing the spotlight can be tough.
All of a sudden, theyโre not the only one soaking up all the cuddles and attention.
But no matter how confused or uncertain they may feel, thereโs always plenty of love to go around.
Parents know how to balance itโmaking sure their older kids get plenty of attention while also showering love on the new baby.

Still hoping for a sweet moment, the family tried to encourage Ella to give her baby brother a kiss.
Spoiler alert: it didnโt happen.
They quickly realized that it wasnโt baby brother who needed extra attentionโit was Ella.
Understanding her feelings, they gently took the baby back and gave Ella some much-needed love and snuggles.
After all, a little reassurance can go a long way when youโre adjusting to being a big sibling.

The entire encounter was so relatableโand hilariousโthat it quickly went viral, racking up over 30 million views.
Viewers couldnโt help but share their own stories.
One parent wrote, โMy son was all about the baby for the first 2 daysโฆ then on Day 3 he asked, โWhen is he going home?'โ
Another shared, โMy daughter prayed for a sister. She got a sister. I think she may have glimmers of regret at times.โ
