The holidays are a magical time with Christmas caroling, twinkling lights and the surprise of presents under the tree. The presence of children heightens the excitement surrounding this holiday as they anticipate the arrival of Santa and ripping open gifts.
There’s also school Christmas concerts, church Christmas programs and holiday dance recitals. Wee little Emelynn made her sparkling dance debut during her first Christmas dance recital.
Proud dad Vince Mora recorded Emelynn’s spirited performance on stage behind a red and green striped ribbon adorned with big red ribbons. Vince labels himself an amateur filmmaker but definitely caught these cutie pie dancers putting their best foot forward so to speak.
Daddy’s princess dances with Rowe Dance Academy and for the Christmas concert, they performed to the classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” The darlings are dressed in brown dance dresses with tiers of ruffles and a red ribbon on one side. They sport matching brown furry boots and huge red felt antler headbands. A jingle bell necklace wraps around their necks.
The girls squat down behind the ribbon and as soon as the music begins, they spring up and start bouncing to the jazzy jiving beat of the uptempo holiday hit remake.
It’s impossible not to sing along with this jolly tune!
They each pop up as the lyrics to the song name off each of Santa’s reindeer responsible for pulling his sleigh.
“You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen. But do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?”
They stomp their feet, point often to their noses to match the lyrics of the song and sway back and forth to the beat.
“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer had a very shiny nose and if you ever saw it you would even say it glows.”
They shake their fingers no at the part where the song describes how the other reindeer wouldn’t let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.
“All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games.”
The audience can be heard cracking up and cheering for these adorable angels.
They spin their arms and once in a while forget what they’re doing and just space off. It’s typical for dancers this young to be unable to remember an entire dance routine, even the simplest one, but they are still absolutely precious to watch.
To match the lyrics about how the reindeer suddenly liked Rudolph for saving Christmas with his shiny red nose, the dancers hugged themselves.
“Then how the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee, ‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, You’ll go down in history.'”
For a short period during the routine, they do their own thing, sort of like mini solos. At the end of their choreography, the cutie pie in the middle of the dance line blows a kiss to her adoring fans while the crowd hoots and hollers, rewarding the kiddos for a job well done.
Watch these festive little firecrackers strut their stuff on stage to a beloved Christmas tune. They’re so endearing!
