What do you think about the way he lives? Does he deserve more? It is a good thing that this "tiny" home was all he needed to get off his feet!

Sometimes we all need a little help in life; you never know when something is going to happen that flips your world upside down. In an instant — everything can change. Sometimes for the worse, but other times for the better.

For one Navy veteran named Shawn Barnhart — he’s experienced a bit of both.

After serving in the Navy, Barnhart found himself homeless; his only form of shelter was a tent on the streets.

As Barnhart was struggling to get by every day, he had no idea that his entire life was about to change. All thanks to a group of high school teens and a non-profit group.

The non-profit group is called Kavanah; the organization helps high school students learn valuable skills while helping the community at the same time. Truly a fantastic program.

The non-profit group contacted Barnhart and surprised him with keys to his very own tiny home.

Even though the house was little, at just 100 square feet, it’s all Barnhart needed to get his feet back on the ground. A warm bed, a roof over his head, and electricity — comfort he hadn’t experienced in quite some time.

Barnhart gives a tour of his tiny home in the video below, and you can see his smile beaming. You can see the happiness on his face, and he gives the tour.

The Navy vet took steps every day for nine months to make something of his life. If it wasn’t for the tiny home, he’s not sure if he would have been able to pull it off. He is so grateful for the generosity of Kavanah and the local kids.

After nine months of living in the tiny home, Barnhart was able to move into a bigger home and is starting his own contracting business.

Barnhart no longer has to worry about protecting all of his earthly belongings from inside of a tent. This is all thanks to the nonprofit group, Kavanah.

Kavanah says that this was their very first tiny home that they’d ever built — but it’s far from the last. The organization plans on building many more tiny homes to help the local homeless population.

Barnhart’s gratitude is palpable through the screen in the video below. We’re excited to see what his future brings.
