At six years old, little girls usually go on playdates, run around playgrounds, play pretend in their rooms, bake cookies, and watch their favorite TV programs. One little girl defies those limiting expectations and breaks stereotypes by getting up in front of a large audience and dancing solo, costume, makeup and all. Typically, ballet is the preferred dance form of six-year-olds.
Ella Dobler decided to take it a step further by tapping into contemporary dance. The confidence she exhibited as she stepped onstage was admirable. The calmness and poise were evident in the tiny dancer with a larger than life stage presence. When the music played, she was more than ready.
Slowly and gracefully beginning her dance, Ella showed off her flexibility and dancing skills in time with the beat of the song. Each transition from step to step was executed flawlessly. The young dancer’s gaze was fixed on the audience despite concentrating on her dance. Ella Dobler was made for the stage.
Surely, most six-year-olds would show even just an ounce of nervousness and stage fright. Not Ella. Her exceptional talent and dedication armed her with the right confidence. Mastering techniques from different dance genres like jazz, modern dance, and classical ballet is not easy for a six-year-old – or anyone for that matter.
Watching Ella move across the stage proves how naturally dancing comes to her and how deeply she enjoys doing what she does. One can only imagine the hours of practice, effort, and discipline essential in mastering the art of contemporary dance – and at such a young age, too!
This isn’t her first rodeo in the contemporary dance scene She made waves at the age of 4 with a beautiful performance of ‘Heaven On Earth.’
While we’re positive that Ella is as playful and dynamic as the kids her age, there’s no denying she’s a cut above the rest with her talent and the dancing awards tucked under her belt. Ella Dobler is definitely a name to watch out for.
