When you’re dealing with small children, it’s pretty hard to predict how things are going to go. Of course, you can tell them what to do and they can try their best but really, anything can happen.
This is especially the case with things like dance rehearsals. You can teach a group of children a whole dance routine but will they listen once they are on stage and the curtains open? It’s hard to tell, but it is a risk that most parents take.
This dance recital went wrong.
This one little girl is a perfect example of that. In a video uploaded two years ago, even titled “Dance Recital Gone Wrong,” this tiny featured dancer decided to go her own way right out of the gate.
First, all the teachers lined up the little girls and made sure they were in place (not that it mattered too much because everything was about to get hilariously messed up).
Everyone is wearing the most adorable costumes too — black and white, polka dot dresses with fluffy tutus and bright red belts. The featured dancer is in a classic suit, looking quite dashing if you ask us. Everyone is also wearing Mickey Mouse ears which, later, cause some issues.
Here’s where the issues start.
Before the music even starts, and before the actual dance even begins, the featured dancer in the suit decides to have a bit of fun. She points to the crowd and they all laugh. Then she points again.
Then she gets excited and jumps up and down with a big smile on her face. After that, she steps out of line, puts her hands on her hips and nods to the crowd who again, laugh.
The madness doesn’t end there. Once the music starts, all of the dancers begin marching in unison (sorta). Except for the featured dancer, of course.
Instead of doing her part, the star of the show just stands in place and watches the others before she starts to lose her mind and jump really big with a lot of exaggeration. She totally loses herself and spins around in circles and then eventually falls on her tiny bum.
It’s not sad or embarrassing when she falls, though. The audience just laughs it off while one of her fellow dancers turns to her and tries to help. But then that dancer quickly gives up and returns to what she was doing, which just makes it even funnier.
The star stays on her bum for a good few moments before getting back up — it seems like she’s just hanging out, having a solo picnic.
When she does finally decide to get back up on her feet, she marches out of line and goes next to one of the other dancers and plays games.
She’s clearly not taking it seriously… But it’s hilarious.
Sure, maybe it wasn’t a perfect performance but honestly, this was just as — if not, more — entertaining.
We can’t get mad at her for being her own person. She’s going to grow up to be very unique. We can sense it!
