Hailing from Oklahoma, this 9-year-old boy was interviewed by a local television station asking for something you’ll never forget.

He begs with all his heart to be adopted.

He goes on expressing the heartbreak that only children in the foster system know so intimately and hopes he won’t have to be raised without a family.

Jordan has been part of the foster care system for six years.

That means Jordan has lived the majority of his life within foster care. That’s too long for anybody.

Our heart breaks for Jordan, as no child deserves to grow up without a family.

But then a miracle happened.

Not only did his interview go viral, it will change the course of his life.

By speaking authentically and through the heart, he reached the attention of thousands. Many wanted to spring into action right away.

When asked where he would go if he could go anywhere he wanted in the entire world, he answered

“To an adoption party for a home.”

“I would just like to have a family to call mom and dad or just mom or just dad. I don’t really care. […] The reason it’s important is because so I could have some people to talk to anytime I need to.”

“I hope one of y’all pick me.”

Jordan has been living in a group home, but he of course craves that regular life of a child with parents who he can go to with anything!

Only half a day after the interview aired, thousands of people called in looking to adopt Jordan!

His greatest wishes were answered. Literally! When asked what he would wish for with three wishes, Jordan simply answered:

“To have a family, and family, family. Those are the only wishes I have.”

But it’s not quite all sunshine and rainbows for Jordan just yet.

Jordan has been interviewed before. Three years ago, Jordan and his brother Braison participated in an interview. At the time the brothers were living separated from each other in different foster homes.

Sadly, Braison had been adopted without his brother last year.

The brothers even get to rarely see each other.

Christopher Marlowe, Jordan’s Permanency Planning Worker, said that the Oklahoma Department of Human Services were hoping to get the brothers in closer proximity so that they can at least spend more time together.

“His brother’s adoptive family has been agreeable to that and even if things go well, they said they would be willing to take them out on day passes so they could spend some good quality time together.”

But Marlowe is hopeful that this is Jordan’s time to find his forever home with a good, loving family.

Afterall, Marlowe has to sort through 5000 applications to adopt Jordan now!

Needless to say, Jordan has been through so much in such a short time. Marlowe even added,

“Even for a child that’s been through custody, he’s been through a whole lot compared to most of our kids.”

The reason Marlowe is saying it that way is because the foster care system is notoriously difficult and even traumatic for children.

There are over 7000 kids in the foster care system in Oklahoma alone.

Against all odds, Jordan’s situation is finally starting to look up for him. With 5,000 people looking to adopt this sweet boy, I’d say he’s got some pretty good odds in finding his forever home. Hopefully, this story has inspired people to start adopting within the foster systems in their own state.

We are so excited for Jordan and only wish him the best in his bright future. You’re not alone anymore little man.
