When they sang the last note, everybody stood up led by their coach, Kelly Clarkson. She was waving her hands and shouting, “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!”

Who are Jej Vinson and Beth Griffith-Manley?

Jej is a 22-year-old Filipino singer, who moved from the Philippines to South Dakota, then Los Angeles, CA to pursue a musical career. He sang for Former US President Barack Obama and Former US First Lady Michelle Obama at The White House as part of his university’s a capella group. He also wowed the coaches with his blind audition of Drake’s “Passionfruit”.

Beth Griffith-Manley is the daughter of the late John Griffith of Motown’s Funk Brothers’ fame.

Her parents didn’t want her to work in the music industry because her dad “felt the business was too hurtful and unfair.” She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Information Systems and Business Administration and Management from the University of Phoenix but the call of music was too strong and she kept singing while in university. After she graduated, leading to singing and touring with legends, including Ali “Ollie” Woodson of The Temptations and Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams.

John Legend spoke first and said, “Jej, your tone was really interesting and cool,” he started.

“Both of your voices don’t sound like how I’ve heard the song before, but you both sounded really great doing it.” Adam commented, “I want to, first, say, the unison that you guys did was maybe the best I’ve ever heard.”

He continued, “It was amazing how your voices melded together. Yeah, this is a tough one. But I’m gonna go with Jej because there were times when you did upstage Beth a little bit.”

Blake commended Beth and how incredible of a singer she was but with Jej, he said, “He’s singing note for note, the notes that [Beth was] singing as a female and…you go, wow, he’s doing that…I think it’s hard to call.”

The fans loved this duo, too!

Ferdiansyah Himawan said, “Beth’s attitude is so great, we can see from the way she responded to coach’s comments. She’s [a] very humble talented singer. Jej’s run is one of the best. Both are amazing singers.”

Nhelj Odagen said, “52 times I’ve come by and played this performance. Using headphones [with] maxed vol. Damn, the feels.”

Carson Daly hs now joined Jej and Beth on stage to put the pressure on Kelly to make the final decision.

Kelly started things off when she said, “I’m so excited because y’all did exactly what I asked of you because you’re so incredibly talented.”

Kelly continued to gush, “That’s why not only the unison parts sounded so in sync, but what y’all did in harmony, it is note for note on point.”

And it’s time. “Who is the winner of this battle?”

Without missing a beat, Kelly announced that Jej won this battle. Because of the class act that she is, Beth smiled and cheered for her fellow teammate.

“Beth and Jej was probably one of my favorite battles I’ve ever had on my team,” Kelly remarked. “I picked Jej because his range was incredible.”

Jej thanked Kelly and said, “Thank you, Kelly, for believing in me and choosing me. I’m not gonna let you down.”

In The Voice during battle rounds, a coach can “steal” another coach’s team member if they weren’t chosen.

And that’s exactly what John Legend did. Carson hadn’t even finished talking when John already hit his button and stole Beth for his team.

“John Legend steals Beth immediately!”

“I had to steal Beth,” John said. Beth’s jaw dropped and she was ecstatic to still be in the game.
