Pranking someone is always fun, but you have to be sure not to cross a certain line. Benign pranks are okay, but you’d never want to seriously traumatize anyone… Would you?
Tom Daniel Hansen Sylte, a Norwegian man from Trondheim, wasn’t too concerned about traumatizing one his buddies when he set up one of the most terrifying chainsaw pranks of all time.
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube, has garnered over 545,000 views, and Tom’s friend’s epic reaction to the scary prank is what truly takes it above and beyond. The video is about 30-seconds long and begins with two men working in a garage. Tom, wearing a white shirt, is seen running a chainsaw in the corner while his friend works under the hood of a car.
Both men are busy doing their own thing, so Tom’s friend doesn’t even notice when Tom slowly drops his chainsaw in the corner, exchanging it for a mock chainsaw without a blade. Looking behind him, Tom slowly starts falling to the ground, holding the fake, running saw to his chest, as fake blood spurts out. When Tom’s friend turns and sees the scene, he screams in horror, bringing his hands to his head…
… And collapses to the ground, losing consciousness and fainting from the shock.
After a few seconds, Tom realizes what has occurred and he stands to check on his friend. He nudges him a few times, shooting grins with the cameraman before the friend finally wakes up, When he does rise, he gives Tom a shove, and walks off visibly (and understandably) upset.
As mentioned, Tom’s prank has garnered hundreds of thousands of views. However, a few critics have accused the men of faking the entire scene.
“It’s not real… I actually used to work on clip shows and European countries would make tons of these fake videos and try to sell them…”
Others, however, think it’s pretty legitimate.
“I totally beleive [sic] this! It is the best prank ever completed and all of you are jellie and butt hurt”
(I’m actually sad that this person missed out on the chance to use the term ‘peanut-butthurt and jelly’)
“Why everyone keep saying it is fake? Of course its fake is a prank after all.”
I personally hope the whole scene is fake. Maybe I’m a bit too sensitive, but I think it goes a just little too far for my tastes. Watch it below and be sure to let me know what you think.
