Back in 2013, there was a dance group based in Germany called Teen Titan Crew. They initially began dancing just for fun but little did they know, one of their dance routines would soon go viral.
In July that year, they performed at their prom and it was absolutely epic. Consisting of four members, they all coordinated with each other so well.
Whether or not the dance was just meant to be for fun, it was seriously at a professional level!
The performance also features several iconic songs — “Y.M.C.A” by Village People, “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen, “Beat It” by Michael Jackson and “Night Fever” by Bee Gees — just to name a few. There were so many other songs!
Right when the group starts dancing, you can tell it is going to be great. They all move in beautiful harmony and it is obvious that they have rehearsed the moves over and over again.
It is not long until they then break out some extra serious moves. For instance, at one point, one of the dancers does a flip off the back of another dancer. They move so quickly it’s almost hard to catch, but it definitely happens. The whole crowd clearly loves it and goes wild for the insanely impressive moves.
This isn’t a simple dance. It really takes a lot of talent, skill and practice to get to this level!
To the dance group’s surprise, the video blew everyone else on the wild web away too. It unexpectedly went viral, earning over 3 million views and thousands of likes and comments.
One user commented on the video to make sure that everyone knew this was not a professional dance group, just “four guys from [her] school in Germany, Nordrhein-westfalen.”
“They made this choreography for their prom celebration to show how much happened in music in the several years they attended our school,” she continued to explain. “It’s basically just for fun. They put this video on youtube for their own reasons and because people liked it so much. Somehow it also went viral on youtube which is great :) Maybe they will do another video someday.”
Before the video even found major success online, the four young men were taken aback by having a little over a thousand views. How humble!
They wrote on their group’s Facebook page:
“Omg guys you are so awesome. Over 1,300 views on Youtube and almost 190 likes here. That’s so crazy.”
“At this point a huge thank you from all of us, we wouldn’t have expected that much support,” they continued.
“Thanks to you and your support, we were really keen to dance even more. That’s why new videos and choreos will definitely come from us in the future.”
This routine takes some serious choreography, so it is pretty insane that these four nonprofessional dancers were able to whip up something that was, well, so professional!
They promised more dancing in the future, so we hope they are following through on that!
