Hanhart syndrome is a rare disorder wherein a person is born with underdeveloped limbs, mouth and jaw. It is a rare birth defect and with no known cause. In the case of Gabe Adams, his limbs didnโ€™t grow at all.

He was born in Brazil and only two days old when his mother abandoned him at an orphanage.

Gabeโ€™s chances of being adopted was almost zero.

His future looked bleak and he lay in the hospital for days. Until Janelle Adams saw Gabeโ€™s picture in a supermarket. She knew she wanted Gabe to come home and live with her.

The adoption process took awhile but the day finally came for Janelle and husband Ron to bring Gabe home.
