Itโs not every day that a kind-hearted person comes along and decides to change the lives of many. A lot of times, we see people in need and we would like to help, but we just donโt really know how or weโre too afraid. Whatever the reason is, changing peopleโs lives for the better is not an easy task.
This boy knew that but he didnโt care. He had a strong urge to help people and he was aware that it would come at a cost but he was willing to put in the work.
A 12-year-old boy named Phoenix Browne is from Chesapeake, Virginia. And he decided to mow 50 lawns this past summer.

But he didnโt just mow all of those lawns for nothing. It turns out that it was actually for a good cause. And now heโs being recognized for his good work by people all across the country!
And oh yeah, all 50 lawns belonged to homeowners who were disabled, elderly, veterans, or in need in any other kind of way. And itโs all thanks to a challenge.
His good work did not go unnoticed.
Leaders in the Chesapeake area discovered Browneโs hard work, so they paid it forward and rewarded him with a certificate of recognition at their City Council meeting.
โIt was really fun just completing the challenge,โ Phoenix told Wavy. โIf I could, I would do it all over again.โ
The challenge he is referring to is the 50 yard challenge, something that was created by Alabamaโs Raising Men Law Care Services. Basically, the organizations urges children to support and care for their communities by mowing the lawns of those in need.
Itโs a simple deed that goes such a long way, especially when several teens decide to participate.
Luckily, Browneโs father decided to drive him around from house-to-house. With his fatherโs help, he managed to take everyoneโs lawns by storm โ while lugging around his own lawn mower โ over the course of three weeks.
โWe woke up 7:30, 8:30 [a.m.] depending on how many lawns we had,โ Browne said.
The heroic teen admitted that it wasnโt always easy.
โOne day I did six in one dayโ he said. โSome days I didnโt want to go but I did it, knocked it out and came back home.โ
But even though getting up and out took a lot of effort some days, what it came down to was his strong work ethic. Even when he was struggling, he pushed through, showed up, and completed the challenge in its entirety. Then he was rightfully rewarded.
He was given a new lawnmower, weed eater, and leaf blower from the organizationโs founder as a reward for completing the challenge with flying colors.
Browne even described his new lawnmower, saying itโs very smooth and light and he really likes it.
โI feel really good,โ Browne said. โJust meeting more people along the way, seeing old faces, familiar people also, it was really fun.โ
The young boyโs parents are also very proud.
โItโs good to see that he wants to do things and it comes directly from his heart,โ said Phoenixโs father, Sheldon Browne.
His good deeds donโt even end there.
You know what Browne did with the tip money he earned? He used it to buy pizza for those in need.
