Being a teen isn’t easy.

With all of the growth and changes your body and mind is going through it’s hard to keep up from day to day.

Add on the stress of dating or dances and it’s a whole new thing to worry about.

Homecoming dances are a high point for many 17-year-olds, eagerly anticipated throughout high school years.

In Las Vegas, Daniel Rivas, a teen with Down syndrome, was no different.

He was all set to enjoy this annual event, but he faced a significant hurdle: he didn’t have a date after being turned down by a girl he asked.

This is where Kylie Fronius, a compassionate classmate of Daniel’s, stepped into the picture.

Upon learning about Daniel’s situation, she didn’t hesitate to ask him to be her date. Speaking to Fox5 Las Vegas, Kylie said, “I don’t think of kids that have a disability as being different. I think of them just being a normal person learning in a different way.”

Tonya, Daniel’s mother, was deeply moved by Kylie’s gesture.

She expressed her gratitude by saying, “It’s not about that Daniel has a disability. It’s Kylie didn’t see any disability. That is what your heart wants as a mom.”
