A recent tattoo artist blew up on social media after people caught wind of her quirky and unique designs. Her name? Helen Fernandes.
Born in Brazil, Helen started drawing when she was just a child. Now, she’s turned her passion for art into her now-famous tattoo designs! Not only that, but she’s also an illustrator, mechanical engineer, and she even teaches art classes.
When Helen first started doing tattoos, she did them for friends for free. Her following grew so quickly though that, in 2017, she launched her Malfeitona Instagram account where you can see many different forms of her art. While her style might not be for everyone, a lot of people love her simple yet profound work.

This person must have given “Despicable Me” a very low rating. Who roasts a cute minion?!

This creepy cat has either lightning bolts or thorns all around him. Kinda spooky…
5. Conjoined Friends?
Many people think that this represents a husband and wife, but it could be twins right? Or maybe really close friends. Either way, this is a cool one!

This person had their own specific design. We think it’s pretty cool that she’s good enough to take their ideas and put it in ink!

Somebody is a fan of Batman and we don’t blame them. Even this creation of him looks quirky and unique.

Clouds are sad, but hearts are happy! We love both clouds and hearts and this design is perfect!

This gator looks stoic, like he just robbed a bank, or maybe like he wants to go read some books. Either way, he’s one of our favorites.
14. Pizza anyone?
The text is telling the other pieces of the pizza to not fall off right? Or maybe it’s just talking to us, but I’m not really sure on this one.
15. Chasing the tail
This one is unique because it is around an elbow. We imagine that it tightens up when the person moves the joint. Interesting idea here.

This shark = not scary
It’s gotta be because of how long he is. Looks as thin as a straw!

That’s a scary looking kitty if we’ve ever seen one.

That bug doesn’t look like he’s going to make it. The spider is about to have lunch.

Well, he’s going to town, but he’s also going to town on the poor town. That last sentence is a bit confusing, but you get the idea.

This one is a bit terrifying. It’s awesome to honor loved ones passing, but we don’t know how people look at this one every day?

Not really sure this one has a specific interpretation, or if it’s just one you can think whatever you want about. What are your thoughts?

We all love stick people, and while we used to doodle them on paper during class, Helen doodles them on people. This one looks great!

These are some spooky potted plants. They are ready to chomp down on anyone who comes near.

This poor princess is about to be swallowed whole by an evil monster. One question first though, where did her hair go?

With a variety of nuts and bolts, we are guessing that this person is pretty handy with the tools. Would you get this tattoo?

This one looks extremely hard to figure out, it could be someone stranded in a desert but we’re not sure.

This poor cat is crying and we don’t know why? If only we could get him some help.
28. Portuguese?
The Portuguese word for “Dende” is masculine. Maybe it’s a man trying to tell the world that men who cry are strong? That’s what we came up with.

Who doesn’t love a good crab? We can’t tell if this guy is angry or happy. He just looks like a crab…on second though, he might be mad.

We’ve all experienced heartbreak throughout the years. This person has even solidified it with a bandaid and some stitching to show that they have healed!

Who said you can’t put the stars and planets on your arm? It looks awesome! Some might even say that this tattoo is out of this world!

This marijuana leaf is a popular one right now. Although, the maze tattoo below it is equally cool.

Baking is quite fun, and getting a tattoo of all of your baking utensils that have been cartooned to be real people looks great as well.

Our actual favorite out of all 50, this little heart is just the perfect design. We love the colors and think it would be the perfect wrist tattoo.
