If there’s a person who lives by “Dance like no one’s watching,” this probably is him.

The whole video opens on a staircase. With its claustrophobic space and frequent foot traffic, this is the last place you’d want to dance in. But that’s not the case of this “neo-swing” dancer as he shuffled in from the doorway, showing off his smooth and fancy footwork.

Accentuating his dance moves is his stylish sense of fashion. He wears a well-fitting coat with a pair of straight-cut slacks to match, finishing it off with a fashionable trilby hat.

He quickly stands out from the rest of the place, especially when he starts making dance stages out of these mundane places.

This is Sven Otten, more commonly known on the internet as JustSomeMotion. In this video where he showcased his hallway dance, he shuffles through various destinations through funky moves and smooth footwork.

This video has been played and replayed over 8.4 million times, and has brought dose after dose of good vibes to people around the world.

While imitating his moves can result in broken TVs and banged-up chairs, you have to admit that his routine is so mesmerizing to watch, especially when his feet seem to be soaked in butter. The way his feet effortlessly and gracefully glide over the floor will make people envious of this skill.

That is until you discover that Sven Otten is a self-taught dancer.

As if he’s not impressive enough already, Otten shared that he learned how to dance on his own by watching dance tutorials uploaded on YouTube. He filmed these first videos not expecting that these will gain millions and millions of views.

He posted in one of his videos:

“A few years ago I learned dancing in my room just watching Youtube tutorials. I realized I loved it! And so it became my passion.”

It’s a success story that he never misses to share with people. Only dreaming of becoming a dancer one day, the computer scientist now makes a living through his fancy footwork and funky dance moves.

In the video, Otten skids and glides over the hallway’s wooden floors eventually making his way into the streets.

It’s a fitting allegory to his journey as an artist thus far, starting from cramped spaces where there’s only him to watch his moves to dancing in the streets in full view and full confidence.

In 2018, he ended up on the cover of Rolling Stones in Italy. But before his Mediterranean stint, Otten danced his way through Los Angeles, then Germany where he joined a talent show and got in the semi-finals. He then found himself in Italy where Otten experienced tremendous success. He even appeared in a commercial beside New York’s friendliest web-slinging neighbor. Together, they shuffled and danced around Otten’s apartment, and when we say around, we’re also talking about the walls and the ceilings.

In the subsequent years, Otten launched in Brazil and back to the United States. Now, he’s aiming to break through Asia and charm the east with his sleek dance moves.
