Students are disgusted being served this food at school
I can't even tell what some of the dishes are supposed to be.

As parents, we do our best to give our kids well-balanced meals that is both nutritious and delicious.

We all know that a child, or anyone for that matter, won’t be able to study or do anything if they are hungry, right? So we make sure that we pack filling lunches for our kids.

Now, school lunches have been a hot topic lately.

Thanks to social media, many students are now reviewing their school lunches. Just after a few months, the #lunchshaming became a trend.

We all know that school lunches have always seemed to have gotten a bad rap. However, kids nowadays are showing everyone what today’s kids have to deal with when it comes to what their supposedly filling, nutritious, and delicious lunches would look like.

Parents are now furious about learning what type of food is being served to their kids. Who can blame them? Once you see what these meals look like, you might feel the same as well.

Moldy burgers, uncooked burger patties, expired chocolate milk, and a cheesesteak sandwich that looked like it was left in the open air for days!

We’re not even overreacting here. The photos that were shared online through different social media channels are proof of this.

Parents shared how disappointed and angry they were. In an interview with Inside Edition, one parent said that the food was disgusting and that he would never feed those types of food to his kids, not even to his pets!

Anyone who would see this would feel anger and disappointment.

You entrust your kids to school. It’s their second home, and you expect your kids to have, at least, a decent meal. Not like this. Thanks to social media, these kids were able to show everyone what their food really looked like.

After the Covid-19 pandemic, free meals are being given to schools until June of next year. It doesn’t matter what the income of your family is, a child is allowed to get a meal, and the U.S Department of Agriculture will reimburse the school.

That’s great news, but seeing this? It hurts to know that free lunches are treated like this. They aren’t suitable for any person, let alone kids.

“We recognize that over the past few days there were a few instances where we didn’t meet the expectations of all of our students and families,” said Chartwells12K, one of the third-party or outside vendors who cater to some of these schools.

What do you think about their statement? For some parents, these weren’t just “a few instances” and a form of negligence from the people responsible.

“We want you to know that we’ve had a chance to work with the administration to make additional adjustments to our meal service and menus which will be in place before the end of next week,” they continued.

The official statement came from a letter that was sent last September 10 and was then forwarded to NJ Advance Media.

Until now, many students are bringing their school lunch concerns on social media. For these kids, it is the fastest way to get action.

For kids to do well in school, they need proper nutrition, and they can only get that from the food that the school is giving them. Free or paid, no kid should suffer inedible meals like these.
