It is so wonderful to hear stories of such selfless generosity in times like these!
It’s not everyday that a server at a restaurant or bar picks up the check to cash it out and sees that their last patron left them a $2,500 tip! For this group of hard working folks, that is exactly what happened.
In a story published by the Good News Network, an anonymous patron that comes in regularly enough to know the service staffs names, left an incredibly generous tip for five lucky servers. On the ticket the person wrote “Please split this between Tara, Nikki, Jim, Liz, and Arrun. The tip amount is $2,500!”
How wonderful do you think that made those five lucky workers feel that day, knowing the restaurant is closing. Five hundred dollars may not seem like much money to everyone, but I’m sure this made a dramatic impact in their lives.
I was taught to never judge people, but judging by the smiles on their faces, I’m going to assume they were pretty happy about the kind gesture! I think this says a lot about the staff as well as the establishment.
Truth is not everyone has an extra $2,500 laying around to pass out to your favorite restaurant or bar workers. Look at how these youngsters are trying to make a difference and it isn’t costing them a single penny. According to an article published by Global News, when Rebecca Tien found out that her elderly neighbor was self isolating due to the recent corona virus outbreak, she put a plan into action.
When she told the kiddos about the situation they were all for the idea. They got all dressed up and headed over to their neighbors. When asked why they did what they did they responded with amazing thoughtfulness and said “She was stuck inside of her house, so we just wanted to do something for her, we just wanted to make her happy!” Beautiful.
Now here is a guy that makes a difference every chance he gets. When plumber James Anderson received a call for ninety-one year old ladies boiler not working correctly he jumped into action and scheduled a time to come work on it. Christine Anne Rowlands is the daughter of the elderly lady that needed her boiler fixed. She was expecting to receive a bill the next day for the work that was performed to repair her mother’s boiler. To her surprise this is what she received:
Wow! No monies due for all work performed and materials necessary to complete the repairs. Anderson started a company that completes maintenance needs for the elderly or very ill at no cost to them. In an interview with CNN he goes on to say that after he witnessed another contractor take advantage of an elderly person in a time of need he knew that he wanted to create a company that could perform these tasks for people at no cost.
Anderson gave this statement to CNN in the interview, “A lot of elderly and disabled people don’t like asking for assistance, and if they can’t afford something like fixing the boiler, they might not do it and get in trouble,” he said. “We are there to take that worry away.”
Simply, Amazing Sir!
