Thereโ€™s no denying thereโ€™s a pretty wide gap in technological prowess between generations. Gen Zs have a tendency to know exactly how to operate most pieces of tech, they just have a kind of sixth sense about it! Whereas The Greatest Generation can find newer technology pretty difficult to work with and often disregard it entirely.

Virtual Reality is one of those pieces of tech that are pretty new but easy to use which leads to a lot of hilarious shenangians with older generations who canโ€™t believe what theyโ€™re seeing!

This Irish grandmother is no different and got to experience her first ever rollercoaster ride through VR!

Ettie Carroll from Dunmanway, Ireland, went viral back in 2016. Her grand nephew, Ryan, gave her a VR headset to put on,

preloaded with a rollercoaster ride that he had made himself!

Ryan is a part of a company founded by his fellow college students, called Citosc.

Citoscโ€™s VR product makes VR easy and allows anyone to experience it! Usually, VR requires a powerful (not to mention expensive) computer and an awful lot of space to be able to move around in.

Citosc eliminates the need for powerful, expensive hardware

but it comes with some limitations as a result.

That powerful hardware is needed to run complex programs, afterall!

Citosc was founded at the Maria Immaculata Community College in Dunmanway, where Ryan went to school and where Ettie is from!

Pretty quickly in the video, Ettie reveals that she has no idea what her virtual self is sitting on!

โ€œOh, mother of God, my chair is moving. Iโ€™ve lost five stone. Oh no, โ€™tis stopping. Oh no, โ€™tis going again.

โ€œAre you sure there is a thing like this in the world?โ€

Michael, the relative in the room guiding her through the process, is fighting through laughter as he tells her about roller coasters!

Sheโ€™s a true to life, absolutely authentic, Irish grandma!

And her authentic Irish self is what makes the video such fun to watch! Her commentary throughout the entire thing had me on the floor!

โ€œThisโ€™d give you a heart attack. I think Iโ€™m flying through the world now!โ€

โ€œOh Mother of God, I will have to give this up, Michael, Jesus that is very dangerous.โ€

โ€œOh Mother of God Almightyโ€ฆ this is like something out of Star Wars!โ€

And these quotes are only the tip of the iceberg, her Irish profanity only gets more hilarious!

Needless to say, Irish folk the world over loved the video, and there was an outpouring of love for this hilarious lady! Check out some of these comments from the facebook video:

This isnโ€™t the first time a video of someone using a VR program has hit the internet hard! There are myriad videos out there of VR going wrong in all the best ways!

VR is so incredibly immersive that rollercoasters,

horror games and balance beams in the sky can all feel quite real!

And yet there is something addictive about these VR games! Facebook users noted that despite Ettieโ€™s clear dislike for the experience,

she still wasnโ€™t taking the headset off!

And this is a common case! So many of these videos feature people that, despite their flailing and screaming from a scary experience, just wonโ€™t take the headset off!

Have you ever had a chance to experience VR? If you ever do, I and many others would highly recommend it. It seems so incredibly futuristic,

itโ€™s surreal that we have something like this in our lifetimes!

Ettie might try and warn you against it, but donโ€™t you want to experience that kind of commentary for yourself? You can watch Ettieโ€™s video just below!
