Kids (and toddlers, specifically) are known for their brutal honesty. Children are prone to speaking their minds in a no-holds-barred manner, a trait which often leads to surprisingly hilarious results.
Chief Judge Frank Caprio demonstrated this himself during a hilarious sentencing that was featured on the popular series Caught in Providence.
As the clip opens, the viewer learns the reason for the defendantโs court appearance: he has been charged with a traffic violation.
The man, who had only been driving in the US for the past 6 months, had a perfect driving record in his native country of Africa but had been recently pulled over for going 35 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone.

The man, who claims to have not seen the speed limit sign, tells the judge โI didnโt feel like I was speeding, I was just following the cars in front of me.โ
He then reveals his family is in the courtroom with him today, motioning towards his wife, toddler, and newborn baby who are sitting in the back.

Judge Caprio, who is known for his sense of humor and kind heart, calls the family to stand with the father.
When questioned by the judge, the wife reveals that she was in the car with her husband but did not tell him to slow down because โI didnโt feel like we wereโฆ exceeding too much over the speed limit.โ
โNot too much, just a little,โ the judge jokes.
Noticing the toddler, Judge Caprio asks the father to bring him to the front of the court.
The judge sits the grinning boy in his lap and says, โIโm going to ask you 2 questions, okay? Weโre talking about your father. Youโre going to say โguiltyโ or โnot guiltyโโฆ What do you say?โ

โGuilty!โ the decisive toddler exclaims without missing a beatโ and not even the guilty father can hold back his laughter.

โHe doesnโt know what heโs saying!โ the father jokes.
Despite the speeding violation, Judge Caprio tells the man that he has a wonderful family and will be receiving credit for his clean driving record in Africa.
Before finishing, the judge wishes the young couple his best, saying, โYou have a very honest, young man, as well. Good luck to you.โ
