Just because the holiday season is over doesn’t mean your generosity has to end. In an ideal world, the season of giving would be every season.

In fact, sometimes the best gifts are the ones that are spontaneous instead of expected. But regardless of when a gift is given, it is the thought that matters. Even a gesture could be the greatest gift someone could receive, just like in the video below.

During the Christmas season, Ian Harrison gave his parents a generous gift they would never forget. He paid off the rest of their loan.

And his mother’s reaction says it all:

While having a Christmas dinner, Ian handed his parents a document covered by post-it notes. One by one, the parents removed the post-it notes before discovering Ian’s incredibly generous gesture.

“You’ve really helped us son,” Ian’s father says before his mother realizes what the document means.

And as you saw above, her reaction is one of complete awe and gratitude.

Almost instantly, Ian’s mother gets emotional. And who wouldn’t react that way to such a gift?

She looks at his father, who gradually becomes emotional himself as the video continues.

As Ian’s father comforts his mother, Ian cheekily says, “Told you I would pay you back one day.”

He definitely lived up to his word.

The video earned over 4.5 million views on Facebook and over 250,000 views on YouTube. Many people were touched by Ian’s inspiring act:

Our parents give us so much. It’s hard to say if we’ll ever be able to fully repay them. But Ian’s generosity is a touching reminder that every kind gesture towards our parents counts.
