You’re about to witness one of the greatest father-daughter duets of all time!
Sit back and relax. The game’s about to start.
Every now and then, the pregame has greater highlights than the game itself!
Meet Army Chaplain Paul Peterson and his lovely daughter Reagan.
They’re about to put on a little show before the games begin.
The national anthem is a classic vocal performance. It’s a staple of any American sporting event.
The honor’s only given to those with golden voices – except for Fergie that one time.
Dad’s been singing with his baby girl all their lives. Now, she’s all grown up.
And wow can she sing!
Fun just kinda runs in the family.
So do amazing vocal cords.
These girls have one of the best dads on the planet.
And he’s an exceptional vocalist!
Paul has six daughters. That’s right – six!
Here’s the entire gang before the pandemic.
Remember when people could comfortably gather outdoors?
Hopefully, those days are right around the corner, again!
And shoutout glowsticks.
That’s one big, beautiful family.
Life’s pretty nice when you’re surrounded by so many people you love.
In an interview with USA Today, Paul poured out his heart.
He loves his family more than anything.
Turns out, Paul sang in college. So did his wife.
“People who walk around singing are generally happy.”
This is one musical household!
Unsurprisingly, those skills have been passed down to their lovely daughters.
One day, Reagan was asked to perform the “Star-Spangled Banner” in front of her peers.
She’s a volleyball star and an amazing singer! That’s a potent combination.
But she didn’t want to do it alone…
She wanted to do it with Dad.
And the rest is history.
Paul has a special connection with his daughter Reagan.
They sing together all the time.
They even record and upload their duets online!
Now, the entire school can see their skills live and in person.
“By the dawn’s early light.”
Dad and Daughter turn towards one another, creating an everlasting memory.
This might be up there with some of the greatest anthem performances of all time.
Speaking of which, have you heard Marvin Gaye’s national anthem performance at the NBA All-Star game in 1983?
That’s how it’s done.
The audience, including Reagan’s teammates, is in awe.
It’s not every day that you see one of your best friends take the stage with her father to sing the national anthem to all in attendance.
“And the home of the brave…”
Wow, what a performance!
Naturally, the audience was left speechless.
Some performances don’t even need words.
Their brilliance is impossible to describe! How’s the game even supposed to follow that?
Paul told USA Today the honest truth about his experience singing the anthem with Reagan.
“It was a moment neither one of us will ever forget.”
