Every once in a while a photo will surface on the internet that not only makes us laugh but inspires the creativity of thousands of people around the world.
These people take to Photoshop and try and outdo each other and see who can come up with the most outrageous version of the original photo.
One of those photos is the known as “the sloth.” It all started when a sloth wandered into a local hostel in São Sebastião, Brazil.
The firefighters who were called to the scene to return him back to the forest decided to stop and take a quick photo with the animal before its release.
Apparently, this sloth had a grand old time with these fellas because he has a huge smile on his face in the photo.
The San Sebastian Fire Brigade posted the photo on their Facebook page where it ended up going viral.
“This afternoon the San Sebastian Fire Brigade captured a sloth that was inside an inn in the neighborhood. The Animal was at risk and putting other people at risk as well, and was captured without generating stress and released safely in nature,” a translation of their post reads.
“This is also one of the types of occurrence in which the fire department acts. Not only life and heritage but also in defense of the environment and animals.
Some tips in these cases. Don’t stress or hurt the animal. He’s out of his habitat and he’s definitely scared. Trapped animal attacks, it’s instinct. Don’t provide food or water either, because you can hurt it. In these cases, call the fire department, environmental police or to capture the animal in the most appropriate way.”
That’s how it ended up inspiring an epic Photoshop battle on social media. The sloth was Photoshopped playing with rainbows.
He also went ice skating.
And performed in a ballet.
“This is only thing that has made me laugh out loud all day. Thank you,” wrote one Reddit user.
“Just set that as my phones background. Thank you good sir,” said another.
“That is beautiful,” said a third.
Some even portrayed the sloth as a star in famous movie posters like the one for “La La Land” where the sloth is dancing with Emma Stone.
