Ah, marriage proposals. Some are classy, some are classy, some are unique, but this proposal certainly is all three of those.
Skateboarder Alec Beck wanted to surprise his girlfriend Amelia Brodka – a passionate skateboarder herself.
The two arrived at the Vans Pool Party in Orange, California and there was quite a big crowd that was looking to enjoy some neat skating tricks and enjoy the party. It was Alec’s proposal however that was the absolute moment of the day.
Alec nervously stepped on a skateboard, went towards a ramp where his girlfriend was standing on and swiftly transitioned from his skateboard onto his knees. Amelia immediately knew what was going on and the crowd absolutely went nuts.
The crowd wasn’t the only one that went wild because Amelia jumped up and down in sheer joy and excitement.
“Thank you @ameliabrodka for saying yes, and being you! This was both the smallest and biggest trick of my life. Thank you @vansgirl1@stevevandoren@mateo_ramirez@nealhendrix and everyone else who came together to help make this moment special. I’m very lucky,” Alec said on his Instagram page.
The two lovebirds actually met at the Vans Skatepark, and Alec thought that it was the perfect location to pop the question. This location is thus a special place for them both.
Judging by Amelia’s reaction, she definitely felt the same way.
In her own Instagram post, she thanks Beck for making her the luckiest girl in the world. Brodka, a skateboarder herself, loved the entire proposal. Brodka is also an advocate for women’s skateboarding and has made a documentary on how female skateboarders, according to her website. She’s also the founder of EXPOSURE Skate, a non-profit.
