You gotta hand it to anyone that has the ability to dance – I mean like, really dance. It’s a beautiful form of expression that can captivate entire audiences when real talent is shown.
One performance that’s taken the internet’s breath away came from two young sisters who were named the National Duet Dance Champions. Their acro routine is so exquisite it’s been viewed hundreds of thousands of times on YouTube.
Growing up, not all siblings get along. But sometimes if they can find a common interest it can help bring peace to the house.
The two sisters in the video below obviously share a passion for dancing. Not only that, by joining for a routine – there’s no doubt that they had to spend a lot of time together practicing (which had to of made mom happy!).
When they took the stage, the girls were dressed alike in white outfits and had their hair pulled back in buns. Even those who didn’t know them could likely tell they were sisters.
Only moments later, Michael W. Smith’s 90s classic “Place in This World” filled the room sending the pair into action.
Everyone watched as they gracefully moved in a synchronized fashion looking like tiny ballerinas. Yet, their routine was about to go to new heights.
The sisters grabbed hands and hurried to the stage’s right. That’s when they showed the audience they weren’t just skilled in dancing, but actually gymnastics too.
Suddenly, the duo began flipping across the stage side-by-side, before contorting their bodies into difficult positions. It became clear the girls were trained in acro dance.
On the Dance Innovations website, they describe the technique as follows.
“Acrobatic Dance, or acro as it is commonly referred to by dancers and dance professionals, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Often defined by unique choreography, acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context.”
Acro’s dance moves stem from jazz, ballet, modern, and lyrical. Combined with the acrobatic style it creates performances that leave you awestruck. Just think Cirque du Soleil.
The sisters worked as a team throughout the routine, wowing the audience with their fluid and impressive movements.
Although they’re obviously different ages and sizes, at points they look like mirror images of each other. No doubt their parents must have been very proud!
It’s easy to see why the internet has been going nuts over the video below.
Of course, people on YouTube have expressed their amazement by writing comments. Some even felt that the duo (who were declared the champs) would have been perfect for the show, America’s Got Talent.

It’s uncertain whether the girls continued to advance with their dancing over the years, but there’s no doubt they are both talented individuals.
