Sometimes the bad auditions on the talent TV show competitions are even better than the good ones. That is how we felt about singer Aaron Jeremy when he appeared on The X Factor UK a few years back.
Unfortunately, despite a massive effort, he just didn’t have what it takes to hang with the other stars on the big stage.
Going into the audition though, he was quite confident.
“I would describe my singing voice as unique. I would rate myself a possible 10 out of 10,” Aaron told the host before his audition.
“I feel at one in myself when I sing. I do think I can win the X Factor.”

When Aaron said his singing voice was unique, he wasn’t lying.
Just how unique though, we didn’t realize until he stepped to the stage. First, though, he warmed himself up for the audition by doing a series of unusual humming exercises. It was unlike any warm-up activity we’ve ever seen. It made us curious as to whether Aaron was a genius or simply a mad man. However, minutes later, we found out.
“Hip hip hooray,” Aaron shouted as he walked out in front of the audience.
He got the whole crowd to participate in his hip hip hooray chant.

Then he started telling the judges all of his personal information rapid-fire style before they even got a chance to ask him anything.
“I’m new to the show. I hope you enjoy this. It’s the best I can do. I’m going to start now, okay?” said Aaron.
“Can I ask you a couple of questions?” Cheryl asked him. However, Aaron just began spouting off more personal details like his age and where he was from without ever letting the judges get a word in. Finally, they just decided to let him start his performance.

The song he chose to do for judges that day was “Heal The World” by Michael Jackson.
Although, the only thing that actually gave it away was the background music. His lyrics were pretty unintelligible and quite hard to understand. The music began playing, and after pausing for an awkward amount of time, he started singing… or mumbling maybe? We’re not quite sure.

The judges couldn’t help but laugh.
It was one of the worst auditions ever in the history of the show.

However, what really made it special were Aaron’s dance moves.
He goofily swayed back and forth in his ill-fitting suit while pumping his fist in the air and occasionally bouncing up and down. By the end, he had the entire arena cracking up.

While Aaron appeared to be serious about his audition, the whole thing played out more like a comedy.

Of course, it was a unanimous no from all of the judges.
“Dannii, next round or not?” Simon Cowell asked Danii Minogue.
“No,” she blurted out.
“Never,” said Louie Walsh.
“10 out of 10 for trying,” said Cheryl.
Simon agreed with Cheryl. He told Aaron that he gave a good effort, but that he would not be going to the next round.

Aaron didn’t let the bad news affect his chipper demeanor though.
“Thank you, everyone, anyway!” said Aaron. “My compliments. Take care!”
We’re still not sure whether Aaron was serious or if he was just a really good (or bad) actor playing a joke on us. However, we certainly enjoyed watching him. While he probably doesn’t have much of a singing career ahead of him, we wish him the best of luck! He is a very entertaining fellow.
