Who’s up for some fantastic musical prowess of the incredibly skillful country variety? We have a very special cover of Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” for you today!
The cover is performed by
up-and-coming artist, Casi Joy!
She’s really something else and
she’s been taking the Country world by storm!
Joy was featured on The Voice back in 2017 where she blew the judges away and turned all their chairs nigh instantly!
It was Blake Shelton, legendary country singer, that she blew away most especially! He even sang her praises, saying:
“She has this electric energy when she’s on stage and has these unique things that she can do vocally. She’s an edgier version of a country artist. She’s old school but has a youthful energy about her.
“There’s no stopping Casi Joy.”

🚨Real talk: “Living the dream” isn’t always easy. To be honest, I’ve been in a real funk the past couple weeks. I didn’t really want to do anything, see anyone, go anywhere, nothing. I just wanted to numb out with reality TV… 🤭 I wasn’t posting a lot because I didn’t feel like I could give you “Joy.” I was just and overwhelmed Casi. You know how when your laundry gets so overflowed you just take a nap instead? 💁♀️ Being your own boss while trying to still live your life is HARD. There are so many unknowns, and so many lows. But this pic right here is my high. Getting lost in the music with you. There’s no real message here, and no big takeaway. I just want all my entrepreneurs to know that you’re not alone in the funk. Sometimes we just have to get back to the basics to feel that spark again. What sparks joy for you? 🌟 #sparkjoy #girlboss #maxout #realpost #realtalk #spreadjoy #womenofcountry #dillards #rvliving #entrepreneurlife #personalgrowth
Considering Shelton’s fame and track record, that is some seriously high praise for Ms. Joy!
Joy’s social media game is also seriously on point!
Check out this style!
It’s her social media prowess that has allowed her to accelerate her career so much, mixed with her musical skill and ability as well of course!
Joy is incredibly charming and it really makes people want to follow her career with great interest! In this way,
her charm makes her cover of a Patsy Cline song rather perfect!
You see, Patsy Cline was quite charming as well! She was incredibly well loved as a musician and her musical abilities were second to none.
Who better to cover than Patsy to show Joy’s talents and personality?
Patsy Cline’s life was certainly one of hardship and growth, except that growth all translated into a stellar young woman with an unbelievable work ethic and incredibly thick skin.
Patsy began as a professional singer at just sixteen years old
to help provide for her family!
Patsy won contests and made waves in the country world yet was still turned away by the Nashville big wigs for being too young!
Eventually, at 21 years old,
Patsy got a contract with a record company and her musical career finally had a chance!

Except life simply could not give Patsy a break. Her husband was jealous of her success and divorced her. When she remarried and had children, she was forced to stay home to take care of the kids while her husband was stationed at a military fort.
Patsy’s career would have to wait.
It wasn’t until 1959 that Patsy was able to return to her music properly and begin touring again. Only two years into amassing her fame, Patsy was then injured in a car accident. She returned to the studio after only two months,
which is exactly when she recorded Willie Nelson’s song “Crazy”
the song that Casi and so many others looked to for inspiration and guidance in the Country genre!
Sadly, Patsy Cline’s bright candle burned out in 1963 when she was in a plane crash.
She was only thirty years old. It’s a cruel irony that the country legend’s solidification as a country icon came after her death, when she still inspires and amazes new fans like Casi Joy over fifty years later!
Lucky for us, Casi does the song more than justice, and it would probably make Patsy so happy that someone as talented as Joy was performing the song in her own way.
You can check out Joy’s rendition below to see her insane talent for yourself!
