Although we all like to believe we are very intelligent, understanding the full potential of our brains can be complex. Many people rely on IQ tests, which use various tasks to measure different aspects of intelligence. However, highly intelligent individuals often possess subtle qualities that these tests don’t capture. Simply having knowledge in multiple subjects doesn’t necessarily indicate higher intellect; sometimes, it’s about how our brains function.

An insatiable curiosity

People with a curious mind generally exhibit higher levels of intellectual engagement and accumulate more knowledge over time. Curiosity drives them to seek answers and challenges them to question the status quo. “Intelligent people let themselves become fascinated by things others take for granted,” said Bayesian rationalist Keyzurbur Alas. “Their minds are constantly filled with probing questions about the world around them.”
