The most precious thing you can share with the one you love is memories. This couple understands the value of time spent together more than anyone. You’ll never guess how they proved that love is stronger than fear.
Caleigh Haber suffers from a genetic lung disease called cystic fibrosis. This California girl has been in and out of the hospital for 9 years, and with each passing day her body becomes weaker. Back in 2015, Caleigh underwent a double lung transplant that seemed to be a success. Her luck changed, however, when her body rejected the new lungs. This girl was in desperate need of another transplant, but that situation seemed like a distant dream.
Doctors were worried that Caleigh would not survive another transplant. The patient was repeatedly denied a second surgery – all the while the situation became more and more critical. Even when life was bleak, she never gave up hope. It was during this dark time in Caleigh’s life that she met Bryan.
This man was a breath of fresh air. He adored everything about her, and he kept her spirits up. “I fell in love with Caleigh because she appreciates everything about life, and crappy things happen to her every day,” Bryan shared with the Columbus Dispatch. “If we exhaust all options, we will be happy we tried, but will focus on the quality of life with the time we have left.”
As it became apparent that Caleigh would not get a second transplant, she and Bryan decided to make the most of their time together. They got married with just a week’s notice! Businesses, family, and friends donated to help with the costs of the wedding. Inspired, the couple created a GoFundMe page to raise further funds. “Extra money will help cover outstanding medical bills and help fund future medical needs as well as supporting others in the similar situations!” Caleigh posted on Instagram. “Thank you endlessly, this community is truly incredible.”
The wedding took place on October 28, and it was a dream come true. Caleigh couldn’t be more grateful to have Bryan at her side. “I believe everything in life is meant to be and everything in life has built up to these moments!” the bride shared. She promised her husband, “I will never stop fighting to stay alive because I want to continue to share memories with you.”
These are two people who truly love each other. When it seemed that their time would be cut short, Caleigh and Bryan chose to believe in love and had an impromptu wedding. They are an inspiration to anyone letting fear hold them back.
