Policemen and women work day in and day out to make our communities safer places to live. They put their lives on the line any time they put on their uniforms because you never know what a day on the job will bring.
However, it’s not always all work and no play. You may have noticed a ton of lip synch challenges circulating throughout the web recently. Our law enforcement personnel have been shining their dancin’ shoes and hamming it up for the cameras, challenging other precincts to do the same.
For example, the Norfolk Police Department put together quite an impressive video of their “Uptown Funk” lip sync challenge. They really put on a show throughout their precinct. No wonder their video has over 1 million views!
The Sherman, Texas Police Department is one of the latest to show off their sense of humor with their campy lip synch challenge video. They really show how it doesn’t always have to be all about flash and pizzaz. Sometimes a good sense of humor is all you need.
While they seem to be a bit confused about what lip synching actually is, they’ve certainly thrown their hat into the ring for creativity.
Starting off in a donut shop parking lot, you can see a bunch of cops gathered outside, donning cowboy hats and looking merry.
Once the camera gets inside of the donut shop, that’s when you can see that it’s basically a police party in there.
They start off with a bit of banter about the lip synch challenge. “Maybe we can do something with some kind of farm animals, or something like that,” one cop says to another, to which another replies, “It’s been done.” Surely, something very silly is about to transpire.
That’s when we’re introduced to a very pretty lady perusing her choice of donuts at the counter. She seems to be alone, and, perhaps, a bit sad?
That’s when the cops jokingly intervene with a song: “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” by The Righteous Brothers.
Normally, with these challenges, the actual song plays over footage of the cops pretending to sing. But, this time, we get the real thing. Each policeman in the donut shop shows off his real singing voice, filling the space with song.
Short, sweet, and to the point, this video is one that will surely brighten your day. In a world so fraught with controversy and oftentimes sadness, this shameless silliness is just what we all need right now.
The proof of their amazingness lies in the nearly 8 million views this video has, along with the 10,000 comments and nearly 150 shares. The people know what they want, and what they want is cops showing that they can be clowns as well as enforcers of the law.
At the end of the day, the men and women in uniform are simply people trying to live a happy life, too. They go home to their families looking to make jokes, share meals, and relax with their loved ones.
Do you know any cops that would fit in with this crowd of Texas police?
