Finding a forever home can be a challenge for many shelter dogs, but for a nine-year-old Great Dane named Goliath, the odds seemed even tougher.
As a gentle giant with an imposing size, Goliath struggled to find someone who could take him in.

Goliath’s story began when a family backed up a U-Haul to the gates of Reversed Rescue, a dog rescue organization in Leona Valley, California.

When he stopped to sample some dog cookies from a bin, Friis lovingly joked, “I think this is the bulk bar, not the buffet bar, buddy.”
By the end of the outing, Goliath had a shopping cart overflowing with goodies.
Yet, unbeknownst to him, the best surprise of all was still to come.
Kanaka asked Friis who would be adopting Goliath.
With a smile, Friis replied, “I am. I can’t let him go.”
Goliath’s Christmas wish was about to come true.
To announce the news, Santa Claus himself made an appearance.
Goliath, delighted by Santa’s warm attention, received treats and cuddles from the jolly visitor.
Then came the big moment: Santa revealed that Friis would be his new dad.
As soon as Friis entered the room, Goliath rushed to him, their bond evident in a heartfelt embrace.
