Christmas is just an arm’s length away from now, and it’s amazing how the magic of this most glorious season can spread in the most unique and heartfelt ways.
Cheryl Stewart is a cancer survivor who works as a lunch lady for Teton High School. Not only that, but she also cleans the forest service building as well as the seminary building.
If that wasn’t enough to pull you in, then you’d be surprised to know that Cheryl works from morning to evening as well as in between, would give anyone the shirt off her back, but most of all, everyone loves her.
Before she encountered Secret Santa, she was using a borrowed car as the engine of our van blew up. To make matters worse, she was also said to have surgery the week after that which was during her time off as she couldn’t afford to take additional time off away from her work.
But her most resounding characteristic is that she’s always going out of her way to do something nice for others which is why Secret Santa believed that it would be wonderful to do something nice for her for a change.
Nate Eaton of East Idaho News said that Cheryl was called in at work this very special day despite her not being well because she was told that something was going to happen,
Before Nate would break the news to Cheryl, he asked why she makes rolls for anyone who passes away, her only reply was:
“Because I guess I’m good.”
Secret Santa offered two separate gifts through Nate to Cheryl. One small, conveniently-wrapped Christmas present included $100 check. At this point, Cheryl was shaking with so much more excitement than she probably had her life, but the best gift was yet to come.
Her second gift featured the keys to her brand-new car, and she was overwhelmed with an array of emotions of which she almost couldn’t hold back.
Cheryl asked in a whimpered tone, “Are you kidding me?“
And Nate happily retorted, “No, we’re not kidding! Merry Christmas!“
The car that Cheryl has been borrowing belonged to her parents, which left her wondering how she was going to afford a car until this very day.
Cheryl was incredibly moved by this revelation that she invited everyone attending the high school to come outside and see her lovely new set of four wheels.
And sure enough, Cheryl is monumentally overjoyed as well as relieved since she and her husband struggled so much because of their unfortunate conditions. In fact, or emotions were erupting to the point where she was clutching her chest, seemingly indicating that she might pass out, but kept it together.
It only made sense for her to affect not only Nate but especially the Secret Santa who provided her with this God-sent gift by saying:
“Thank you Secret Santa. You never know what this means.”
