Leaving an old job can behind can definitely be a cause for celebration. It’s a time to welcome a new chapter into your life and to say goodbye to both the things you liked, and didn’t like so much about your job.

I’m sure lots of you out there have felt like dancing on your last day at work.

But how many of you actually did take part in a dance as you said your final farewells?

Well that’s exactly what Corporal Tillman decided to do, on his last day at Don Lugo High School in Chino, California.

After a year and a half on the job, the news that the school’s favourite Resource Officer was leaving for a promotion was a very sad time for the students, staff and parents. He was a much appreciated member of the school and couldn’t simply leave with an average send off.

He told NBC Los Angeles,

“I wanted to go out with a bang, so I was like what better way to go out than with doing a dance?”

With the help of the school’s dance team, the beloved officer took part in a one-minute-and-a-half long dance, which was first posted proudly onto Facebook by the City of Chino Police Department.

Consisting of a medley of five different hip-hop songs, the dance features Corporal Tillman and his dance students doing a whole array of impressive-looking footwork and complicated sequences.

This cop might just be in the wrong job!

As the students scream, laugh and cheer loudly, Corporal Tillman is clearly having the time of his life. He can’t take the big smile from off his face.

When the dance comes to an end, the resource officer holds out his arms to embrace the students.

In a touching moment, students run all the way from the viewing stands so that they can give their officer a final hug goodbye. You can just tell how much all of the students mean to him, and how much he means to them.

Tillman told NBC Los Angeles that he wanted to shine a positive light on people like him who protect and serve.

“Every officer has a family, every officer has a job to do,” He explained. “This officer just loves to dance.”

It is clear that Corporal Tillman and his dance moves will be greatly missed by everyone at the school. Comments on Chino Police Department’s Facebook post show just what an impression he made in the short amount of time that he worked at the school for.

One user commented,

“He has always been such a great officer and has helped me and my girls out. Grateful for Officer Tillman.”

Whilst another said:

“He obviously made a huge positive impression on a lot of students there. That’s an amazing talent. So are his dancing skills. Wish there were more people like him.”

Corporal Tillman will surely be missed by the whole school, but we wish him the best of luck with his promotion.
