There is always hope for everyone, even if it might not feel like it at the time. A lot of strange things happen in this world but thankfully, there are always kind people right around the corner who offer help. Right when we least expect it, a stranger can turn our whole day around.
60-year-old Robert Reed is a janitor at Farmington Elementary School in Germantown, Tennessee. Earlier this year, he had only been working there for a couple of months.

While he hadnโt been there for a long amount of time, it didnโt stop him from getting to know the students and his fellow colleagues. It was in that short amount of time that he made such a big and positive impact on everyone at the school.
According to people at the school, Reed proved that he is an extremely hard-working janitor. Even when he completed all of his tasks, he would look for extra work. Additionally, he would always do his best to offer his extra help to anyone else who needed it.

If you ask people at the school what they think of Reed, they will all tell you that he โadds a little sunshine to our school.โ
Hereโs the thing, though. It was hard to realize at first since Reed was so hardworking, but he actually didnโt have a car when he started the job.

News that Reed didnโt have a car made its way around the school and everyone knew they had to do something about it.
Since Reed didnโt have a car, he was required to take three buses and walk an additional two miles to get to and from school every day. We donโt know about you but after a commute like that, it would even be hard to get work done!

After a long day of work every day, Reed wouldnโt get home until around 8 pm because of his lengthy commute. It didnโt sound ideal, especially for someone who worked so tirelessly. Reed never complained though and instead, continued to keep a smile on his face.
His coworkers love him so much that sometimes they would give him rides to the bus stop. At other times, they would give him some money for lunch. But that could only last for so long โ they wanted to do the next step and give Reed something even better.

Finally, his coworkers decided to put together some money to buy Mr. Reed a truck. This was especially ideal since the janitor had been dreaming about starting his own yard business on the side, which he needed a truck for.

When his coworkers unveiled the big gift, Reed was so beside himself that he actually dropped to his knees and cried. He had so much gratitude for their good deed, so it was a highly emotional moment.
Itโs crazy what a little bit of kindness and generosity can do. It is so nice to see all of these coworkers come together to help a fellow colleague out. Reed is so happy!
