School Bus Driver Noticed Kids Standing In Weeds Waiting For Bus, So He Mows The Lawn Himself
There are a lot of amazing school bus drivers that go way beyond their job description, and Jerry Martin is one of them.
Kids Safety Always A Priority
Kids need to be kept safe even when they are waiting for their school bus
Some bus drivers feel the kids are only their responsibility once the bus arrives and when it departs. Then there is Mr. Martin, who obviously believes where the kids wait for the bus should be a safe environment as well.
Overgrown With Weeds
Weeds were waist high for some of the kids.
Some of the children that this school bus driver had to pick up were waiting in an area that had been overgrown by weeds. This was in front of an abandoned home.
The Concerns
Jerry was worried about what might be lurking in the weeds
His concern was that kids could get bitten by chiggers.
Taking Matters Into His Own Hands
There was nobody to tend to the matter of the overgrowth
Mr. Martin decided that he would take matters into his own hands and mow the overgrown grass.
Some Recognition
Mr. Martinโs deed didnโt go unnoticed. The local school district was so appreciative they posted it on their facebook page.
A Lot Of Reaction
The Facebook posting drew a lot of attention and some very favorable comments.
Not The First Kind Act
Going through the comments left on the facebook page reveals that Mr. Martin was not guilty of one kind act, but many.
One comment focused on how Mr. Martin used to be his bus driver, and during that time, he would bring fresh fruit for the kids.
Heโs Not Stopping Here
On his route, he has spotted another potentially danger area for the kids, much like the previous one. It too is overgrown, and Mr. Martin intends on looking after that one too.

Jerry has been driving a school bus for eighteen years
Mr. Martin sums the whole affair up in one sentence, โFor my kids, Iโll just do what I have to do,โ, Martin said.

All too often, people are willing to share negative news that may at time include that which involves school bus drivers. At the same time, there are plenty of these dedicated drivers out there that go way beyond what they are being paid for.
