Before she appeared on America’s Got Talent Champions, very few people in the US knew Cristina Ramos, unless they watched all Got Talent shows all over the world.
But after her show-stopping performance on AGT Champions, everyone knows the name, Cristina Ramos, now.
When her act started, she was clothed in a white furry cape with a shiny, golden design. She proudly announced that it was her first time in America.
“And what a first time for me. It’s amazing!” she proudly declared.
She was like a little kid who was allowed to do whatever she wanted at a theme park. Cristina is definitely such a ham!
When she was interviewed before the show, she was making everyone laugh with all her little quirks. But it was also a delight to get to know her.
Cristina Ramos was born on a small island in Spain and her mother had always believed she had amazing talent.
“But I was very, very shy and I didn’t think I would be in a talent show like this,” Cristina admitted.
But she knew she wanted to sing so she studied music at the Canto Conservatory of music in Las Palmas, Spain. She studied in the same school where the likes of Isabel Rey, Suso Mariategui, Paul Farrington, Cristina Gallardo, Mirella Freni, Carlos Mena, and Isabel Alvarez, among others, also studied.
This is the place where she discovered her musical signature style, opera rock music.
“When I studied at the conservatory, my professors always said that I should choose between the lyrical vocals and the modern vocals. But I used both vocal styles because I could never decide for one. I love the music and both styles have helped me find and perfect my vocals,” Cristina responded.
And when she auditioned for Spain’s Got Talent, she proved that she made the right decision when she performed an AC/DC hit. She began her audition with an opera performance, which showcased the range in her vocals. Then she followed it with a rock performance of the song, which showed her personality and versatility as a performer.
She earned the Golden Buzzer from singer, Edurne, for that audition. And she would eventually win the first season of Spain’s Got Talent.
“When I went on Spain’s Got Talent, it was very [scary] for me. I never thought I could do it,” Cristina recalled. “The moment I won, I remember how excited I was.”
Cristina didn’t stop there though.
She also auditioned for La Voz… México (The Voice Mexico) Season 7 with a mash-up performance of “La Travita” and “It’s Raining Men”. And of course, all chairs turned for her. She chose to be on Team Carlos Rivera.
And surprise, surprise, she won that season, too.
Is there anything this woman can’t do?
And because of her talent, she was invited by America’s Got Talent to compete for their Champions edition. America’s Got Talent Champion invited Got Talent winners and favorites from all over the world. Cristina Ramos was the only representative from Spain’s Got Talent.
“I spent my whole life on my island and America was so far. But now, I’m here,” Cristina gushed. “I’m very nervous because I really want to win America’s Got Talent Champions.”
And when the lights went down and shone the spotlight on her, she wowed the US audience with her show-stopping performance of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”.
As soon as she wowed the AGT judges and audiences with her opera performance, she ripped off her cape to reveal a shiny bodysuit underneath. The wall behind her went up and revealed a rock band performing with her.
The judges absolutely loved her performance!
“This is what I love about this show. Just when you think there’s this beautiful innocent girl singing such lovely beautiful melody opera, boom! Out comes a firecracker!” Mel B. exclaimed.
