Imagine getting ready to put on a regular virtual concert, only for it to end with a mindblowing proposal. Sounds bizarre, but that is exactly what happened to these two lovebirds!

Lillian Yee is a composer “with a love for city pop,” according to her SoundCloud page. She also has a big love for J Rock/pop, indie pop/rock, Shibuya Kei and the “sweeping and sentimental soundtracks of Ghibli, Final Fantasy and various anime done by Yoko Kanno.”

She also loves classical music, where her influences range from Erik Satie to Yoko Kanno to Frederic Chopin, among others.

She and her partner, Ron Songco, live in California and have been making music and performing together since 2016. Lately, while in quarantine, they have been finding other ways to share their music and keep themselves busy — while entertaining the rest of the Internet as well.

To make self-isolation a little bit more interesting, the two musical pros decided to put on a little show on their front porch for their whole neighborhood — who knows about their talents — to watch. They would also stream it live on her Facebook music page.

Lillian was ready to entertain the neighborhood, however, she had no clue how wonderful the show was going to end.

Their “Quarantine Concert” had a good amount of viewers too after Lillian promoted the show and spread the news to all of her friends and family.

The big day finally came and the two excitedly set up their “stage” (AKA their front porch). After about 10 minutes, they started to get the show on the road.

“So how is everyone doing?” Lillian asked gently before beginning to perform. “We’re gonna play for our neighborhood so feel free to come out on your porch or open up a window. I know we’re all staying inside… a lot,” she laughed.

Soon the couple played their show which generously went for over an hour. During the show, in between songs, some neighbors would wave hello from their windows on the street. Lillian and Ron would wave back, making it a really sweet moment between two neighbors!

The two would switch up their instruments during the performance which also made it fun. Ron played the acoustic guitar while Lillian either played an accordion-like instrument or simply sang with her pure and soothing voice. Sometimes she would even sing in different languages!

All of the songs they played were very smooth and romantic. It definitely helped set the tone for a proposal later on.

After an hour when they were finally done, Lillian stepped down on the porch. “We are now finished,” she said and read a few of the comments that came in during the live stream.

Many people asked for an encore… And they sure did get an encore, just in a different way!

Then Ron stepped out on the porch to join Lillian. “I just wanna say thank you, Lillian. I love you. You’re a great partner,” he says and gives her a kiss. She jokingly says, “you’re being gross.” Well if you think that’s gross, Lillian, just you wait!

After he freaked her out for a few more seconds, he got on one knee and popped the question. “What the heck!” Lillian exclaimed before immediately saying yes.

The best part is that this whole moment was live-streamed, so all of their friends got to be a part of it!

“Best concert ever,” someone commented. We couldn’t agree more.
