There’s probably nothing sweeter in the world than puppies and proposal videos. Combine both and you end up with an adorable heartwarming video that shows the definition and power of true love.
The 24-year-old Shane Moffis from Alaska knew that his girlfriend Shelby Turner wanted to have her own little Labrador puppy as a birthday present. Shane more than happily obliged and brought the immensely cute pup Sitka into the family, who was just eight weeks old at the time.
Someone filmed the entire thing and Shelby’s reaction is already priceless upon seeing the baby dog. The young woman immediately gets quite emotional and holds Sitka very tightly in her arms. However, Sitka wasn’t the only surprise that Shane had prepared for her.
He kept saying to look at what was on the name tag, which held a wedding ring.
Just a moment afterward, Shane gets on his knees to pop the question. Immediately Shelby bursts into tears of joy and happiness.
“When I picked her up, he kept telling me to read her name tag,” Shelby said to The Huffington Post. “I couldn’t wait to say ‘yes’. I was crying so much, I couldn’t say ‘yes’ right away.”
The two lovebirds have been together for just under five years at that point and were already talking about marriage and what kind of ring Shelby would like to wear – and she’s definitely happy with the jewel she’s now wearing on her fingers and even calls it perfect.
“I am shocked that he got the ring that I designed in my head,” she said.
Shelby also recalls the beautiful proposal and wrote a post on the website HowHeAsked:
“So Shane’s truck pulls up in the driveway of our house and I fly off the couch and can already feel the emotions rolling. The second I see her, I lose it. I’m bawling my eyes out because she is so cute and I can’t believe I got her. I was shaking with so much happiness.”
“Shane kept telling me to look at her name tag, he finally turned her collar so I could see it, and I see the ring that I designed in my head… on her collar. I could not believe it. I could not believe that he remembered and had the ring made. My knees instantly buckle and I’m bawling even more. My eyes were so full of tears, I couldn’t see him get down on his knee. I couldn’t even breath(e) to say yes!”
The two got married on July 30th in 2016, and of course, Sitka couldn’t miss the party. True love!
