At times, it feels like there are more lazy people in this world than there are tidy people. In the mind of a tidy person, the two are opposites. What other reason is there to be a slob than pure laziness?
1) You Clean Up After Everyone
Everyone should clean up after themselves. But when you’re a tidy person, you end up cleaning up other people’s messes simply because you want to make sure it gets done.
2) You Tend To Just “Do It Yourself”
Like I said, you are willing to do things yourself. You are The Little Red Hen. Only you don’t always reap the benefits at the end of the day because this is real life.
3) You Constantly Push Chairs In
Whether it’s at a restaurant, school, or at home, you feel like you are the only one who pushes chairs in when you see them. Why leave them out in the middle of the room?
4) People Sit And Watch You
Although they probably aren’t even looking at you, it feels like all anyone else does is sit around and watch you work. Why don’t they get up and do something productive?
5) You Want To Get Passive Aggresive
Whenver you see someone leave a mess, you tend to get a tad angry. When this happens, you have an urge to leave an angry message behind. But you never do.
6) Drunk Cleaning In A Tizzy
If you ever get drunk, you clean when you do. The next morning, you wake up and wonder what in the world happened to your house. You don’t know where anything is.
7) Going On Vaccuuming Rampages
Whenever the Dust Buster comes out, nothing goes unvaccuumed. It’s a code you have with yourself. Everything that is soft gets vaccumed and everything that isn’t gets dusted.
8) You Don’t Like Cleaning
Despite what others think, you don’t enjoy cleaning. You just enjoy having a clean environment and don’t understand why everyone thinks that’s too much to ask.
9) Sneaking And Cleaning At Parties
Whenever you go to parties, you notice everything in the house. The dirty floors, dusty windowsills, and the trash cluttering the countertops. You probably sneak and do the chores.
10) You Clean Up All The Packets
People who leave empty packets at restaurant tables and home countertops annoy you. The ones who leave them all over their car are even worse though!
11) Getting Angry At People Making Messes
If you clean something and someone comes along and messes it up, you will retaliate. If you’re an introvert, this is probably done in your head only which is good enough for you.
12) Dirty Sinks Disgust You
The thought of a sink with even one dirty dish in it is more than you can take. While you may accept the occasional rinsed dish, one with caked on sauce is gag-inducing.
13) You Always Dance
To make light of your cluttered brain when it’s cleaning time, you listen to music and let it take you. You have also been walked in on when you are in the zone.
14) You Give Unwanted Cleaning Advice
People don’t usually ask for your cleaning advice, but you give it anyway. In some ways, you feel like you are helping. But on the other hand, you just can’t help yourself.
15) You’re Tired Of Telling People To Take Out The Trash
If taking out the trash isn’t “your job” then you feel like it’s your job to tell the person to do it. Over and over again until it feels like you are nagging them.
16) You Spend A Lot Of Time Cleaning Your Desk
Even though your desk is cleaner than everyone else’s, you probably dust it regularly. Everyone has things pile up every now and then, but it doesn’t have to last more than a day.
17) Mold Makes You Squeamish
No one likes mold, but when you see a corner of the shower with speckled black or green, you want to confront whoever owns it. That is unnacceptable.
18) You Make Your Hotel Bed
Yeah, you do! You also pick up trash, if there is any, and clean the bathroom with a washcloth. It makes the cleaning person’s job much easier so why not?
19) You Never Put Empty Containers Back
Putting empty containers back in the fridge or pantry is ridiculous. You actually can’t imagine why anyone would do this and what thought processs it takes to make it happen.
20) You Re-clean Other People’s Cleaning
You may let people pretend to do a good job cleaning, but you always redo it whenever they finish. It’s like cleaning up after little kids sometimes. At least they try, right?
21) “Pilers” Make You Angry
When you see someone put their mail on top of something in the kitchen, you snarl. There is a place for everything and it’s not on top of everything else.
22) You Impulse Donate
You have gotten rid of something that you didn’t want to before because you went on a cleaning rampage. All of the clutter was too much for you so you had to do a major cleanout.
23) You Feel Naggy
While you know that people need reminded to do their chores, you kind of feel like a jerk for telling them. But you still do it because it’s the right thing to do…and their messes annoy you.
24) You Have A Cleaning Closet
You either have a supply closet or you want one really bad. Imagine having a place tos tore your bleach, paper towels, and maybe even brooms. It’s too good to be true!
25) People Call You Neat Freak
You have been called a neat freak more than once in your life. You enjoyed watching Monk and actually connected to his character. You could probably be a detective too.
26) Messy Rooms Make You Nervous
It doesn’t matter where you are, messy rooms make you feel uneasy. Anyone who leaves a place messy has other problems too, right? Maybe they need help with them too.
27) It’s Hard Not To Judge Messy People
While you try to be chill, it’s nearly impossible to not judge the character of people who are messy. Sure, they may not be “lazy” but yeah, they are just lazy slobs.
28) You Long For Expensive Gear
If you had a Dyson, you’d be a whole new person. You dream about expensive cleaning products and hope one day to be able to afford the best of the best.
29) You Always Make Your Bed
You cannot leave the house without making your bed. Imagining doing so makes you quite nervous. In fact, you probably make hotel beds too, and beds that aren’t yours.
30) You Wonder What People Would Do Without You
Since you tend to do everything around the house, you wonder what would happen if you weren’t around. Would people let things turn unto a pig sty or actually kick into gear?
31) Cleaning Supplies Are Always On The List
Right below pantry food, but above toilet paper, you have cleaning supplies on your shopping list. You need to refill the Swiffer box, get bleach, and maybe try something new.
32) You Think People Are Mess-Blind
You go back and forth, wondering if people don’t see the messes or if they just don’t care. You’ve even asked this exact question and people think you’re just being passive-aggressive.
33) You Clean Your Closet Regularly
Your closet is not a mess in other people’s eyes. But that doesn’t matter. What matters is that you know you need to go through your stuff at least once a month.
34) You Wish You Could Chill
It’s not like you want to be this obsessive about cleanliness but it’s better than being a slob. Though you would enjoy a day every now and then when you could just chill.
35) Clean Isn’t Always “Clean”
When other people clean, you tend to think to yourself, “are they even trying?” Your “clean” is way different than theirs and you hope one day everyone is on your page.
