Now this is what I’m talkin’ about!
A dancing prinicipal really sets the bar for in-school coolness!
That sentence makes dead last.
During a school rally, Mr. Tyson Kane (probably the most rad name a principal can have) does a pretty killer dance routine for his entire school, even while being recorded by his students’ smart phones!

He’s dancing to the song I’m So Mint by Legend Da Beatslaya. He’ll no doubt go down in history as one of the coolest principals in the school’s history.
For context this is at Rowe-Clark Math & Science Academy in Chicago, Illinois! Beatslaya himself shared the video on YouTube and it has been seen over 1.4 million times!
Talk about some street cred for this principal!
How many students can say their principal has gone viral?

Did your principal ever teach you the difference between principle and principal? Your principal is your PAL while principle is what you stand on!
Now that I write it down it really doesn’t make much sense.
Stil, it was a helpful language tool to use while I’m writing articles about dancing principals, and I’d like to see if you catch me mess it up in this article! (I won’t!)

The principal has a pretty typical “cool” principal look. For some reason we were always suckers for bald principals who initially looked tough but were really teddy bears on the inside.
Even kids can pick up on some crazy juxtaposition like that!

And the internet has responded oh so positively to this video. The comments speak for themselves!
“You can simply hear the message. ‘Don’t let this suit and tie fool you. I am a educated man and I still have my swag’. This demonstration did more to increase his relatability to the student body.” -Sonja Homer
“he used to be my principle until he got promoted. Now he goes around and gives speeches to other Noble schools in the noble network. He teaches kids to show no fear no embarrassment, which is why he’s dancing all the time.” -2474joyce
“That is too cool!!! I’ll bet his students were simply amazed and thrilled! That principal just earned a higher level of respect from students” -Cat G

Where this principal ever learned to dance like this is a mystery, although Community would have me believe that anyone who looks like Dean Pelton has moves to bust out that are simply woven into their nature!
And dancing might ultimately be a really good thing to encourage in youth and students! If it’s coming from the top down then hopefully it wouldn’t be looked down on or seen as lesser than other sports as time goes on!

According to SportsRec:
“Becoming a skilled dancer requires practice, discipline and focus, skills that can be useful in other areas of your child’s life. […] dance lessons can help to spark creativity in young children and help them to develop an appreciation for the arts. Students who regularly participate in dance lessons typically tend to perform better academically than their nonparticipating peers. “FamilyTalk Magazine” estimates that students who have a background in dance tend to achieve significantly higher SAT scores and do better in math and science competitions.”

Sadly dance is still looked down on in a lot of schools and in a lot of places still isn’t considered a sport!
