We all hear how terrible they say airplane and hospital food is, but that’s in the U.S. According to one Japanese mother, you can have a baby and get a gourmet meal in the Land of the Rising Sun.
According to Daily Mail, an unnamed woman was so impressed by the food her hospital was putting out that she posted 12 photos of her meals on Imgur.
The internet was shocked, and some were even jealous, to see what types of food Japanese hospitals are feeding their patients.
They are basically handed a four to five-course meal on a tray that’s filled with dishes that are healthy, wholesome and pleasing to the eye.
Each tray came filled with a main protein or noodle, in addition to sides of soup, bread, fruit, vegetable, rice, tea, and other delicious looking fares.
Basically, every meal she ate looked like it came from a fancy restaurant.
Her first dish was filled with Omuraisu, a Japanese rice omelet, some macaroni salad, chicken soup, squid rings, fruit and green tea.
Next, she got some beautifully crusted chicken slices with some cabbage salad, melon stir-fry, tofu, carrot salad, rice, and some warm miso soup.
She also had mushroom pasta, potato salad, broccoli and bacon salad, chicken soup, fruit, bread and more green tea.
In addition to salmon, tofu, spinach salad, natto, miso soup, rice, and milk.
Not to be outdone by the camembert and raisins, roast beef, mashed potatoes, kabocha, lotus root with gravy, corn soup, rice, salad, tiramisu, fruit, orange juice, and green tea.
I mean is that not a beautiful spread or what?!?! I mean these plates look like they are crafted by a gourmet chef.
“Your hospital food looks better than overpriced restaurants I have around here,” said one Imgur user.
I mean it makes sense that a hospital would feed nourishing meals to the patients they are trying to heal. But many online have said that wasn’t the case when they visited their local hospital.
This is what one woman said she received in a hospital in Texas, two pieces of bread, two slices of turkey, a mixed fruit cup, packet of mustard and a graham cracker. It’s definitely a big difference from what the Japanese woman received.
Serbia’s offerings didn’t look too much better either.
Many have said that they wouldn’t mind a visit to the hospital if they were serving what they do in Japan.
