The last month of pregnancy can be the toughest one of all for an expecting mother (perhaps for the significant other too). With three kids of my own, I can certainly attest that you reach a point of feeling, โ€œyep, Iโ€™m ready!โ€

At 39 weeks pregnant, one mom decided to try and speed things up by dancing with her husband to Blanco Brownโ€™s โ€œThe Git Up.โ€ But did it actually work?

People from across the nation have been taking part in the latest craze โ€“ โ€œThe Git Upโ€ challenge. From police officers to construction workers, the internet is flooded with participants getting down to the dance tune.

โ€œThe Git Upโ€ is considered a country rap track that even has its own set of line dancing steps to go along with it. After Blanco Brownโ€™s music video was posted on YouTube in June of 2019, it went viral. Right now it has more than 19 million views!

The pregnant mom in the video below was hoping to โ€œdance her baby outโ€ โ€“ and what better way than to take on โ€œThe Git Upโ€ challenge. She grabbed her husband, daughter, and of course, a camera to record it all.

Itโ€™s not uncommon for pregnant women to try inducing labor at home with natural methods. From castor oil, spicy foods, and exercise โ€“ there are many popular options.

However, experts donโ€™t necessarily believe that all these techniques work. New York midwife Elizabeth Stein, CNM told WebMD: โ€œThere are no proven non-medical ways for inducing labor naturally.โ€

WebMD also points out that:

โ€œThe only safe and reliable methods for starting labor involve medications given at the hospital. Most other techniques are rumors, unlikely to help at best and potentially harmful. Only a couple show any promise, and the jury is still out on those.โ€

That wasnโ€™t gonna stop this pregnant mama from at least trying! With how new โ€œThe Git Upโ€ challenge is โ€“ I mean, you never know?

Facing the camera, the husband and wife duo start dancing to the country rap tune. They do a little two-step, some cowboy boogie, and a little spinning action. Itโ€™s a catchy song where Blanco calls for everyone to โ€œhave some fun.โ€

Looking at their faces theyโ€™re having the time of their lives!

Whatโ€™s most incredible is that even with a giant 39-week belly, it doesnโ€™t hold the mom back. Sheโ€™s a great dancer โ€“ and her husbandโ€™s not too bad himself.

One of the best parts is their tiny daughter, whoโ€™s in the scene as well. She steals the spotlight at times with her own dance moves โ€“ but then gets distracted by the tv too (I totally get it).

The couple rolls their shoulders, does some slip and slide, and the butterfly. If you havenโ€™t seen or tried โ€œThe Git Upโ€ challenge for yourself, everything about it is entertaining, to say the least!

At one point though, the pregnant woman pushes herself possibly too far. She squats down dancing as Blanco sings, โ€œTake it down now, take it, take it down now.โ€ Her expression says it all.

While the family was successful in rocking โ€œThe Git Upโ€ challenge, did it help bring on baby? They gave their answer in the description of the video.

โ€œDoing the GitUpChallenge to wiggle the baby out!! This dance was done on July 9, 2019 and we had our baby July 10, 2019!โ€

Itโ€™s uncertain whether all the dancing really was her key to labor (or just a fun way to spend the last day as a family of three). However, surely their baby was born with their dancing shoes on!
