โThe Piano Guysโ are a group of musicians racking up over a billion views on YouTube for their unique and joyful performances.
But a Christmas mashup of โLet It Snowโ and โWinter Wonderlandโ is going viral for the second year in a row for both its audio and its visual magic.

Who are The Piano Guys?
The group started at a little piano story called The Piano Guys in Gaint George, Utah. Owner Paul Anderson wanted a new way to market his instruments, so he began creating entertaining videos for social media showcasing his pianos.
He met pianist Jon Schmidt when the man walked in and asked if he could practice on one of the storeโs pianos before a performance that night. Of course, Anderson saw the potential to make a new video for his store โ and for long-term collaboration as well.

One of Schmidtโs fellow performers, Steven Sharp Nelson, was then called in to play the cello and write songs for some videos.
And with the addition of producer Al van der Beek, โThe Piano Guysโ were born.
The Christmas spirit
Last year, the Piano Guys decided to take a performance a step further. Not only did they do an instrumental Christmas mash-up, but they added some glimmering Christmas lights for visual delight.
A mere 739,539 of them, synchronized to the music.

Of the piece and its inspiration they said:
โFor this tune we triple-channeled the stylistic vibe of legends Michael Bublรฉ, Sara Bareilles, and the Doobie Brothers! We stitched them together so tightly that we hope it feels like being wrapped in a patchwork blanket of both carols, these artists, and The Piano Guys throughout every second of the song. Add the visual splendor of an inordinate amount of synchronized lights filmed in below-freezing temperatures and itโs instant Christmas spirit!โ

They also joked: โOur kids tell us this music video is lit. Umโฆya. We suppose it is.โ

All lit up
But it appears The Piano Guys didnโt have to set up the lights themselves. They asked a favor of the Smart and Richardson families of Sandy, Utah, who put on an amazing light show every year.
Schmidt and Nelson used their amazing home as a backdrop for their video.

And everything was spectacular.
Not only were the performers full of joy and energy, but the lights continued to surprise as they used movement and color-changing features to keep things interesting throughout.
We want to know what itโs like to live next door to these folks! (Look to the left.)

In fact, the band even gave out the address in case anyone in town wants to stop by to see the house โ after all, you donโt put up those kinds of lights unless you plan to let people come by and see them!

Getting ready for the holidays
The marvelous display delighted commenters, who were dazzled by the light show but equally pleased by the fun-loving demeanor of the musicians.

โThe Piano Guys are the best at bringing the Christmas spirit. Itโs so beautiful to hear all the sounds without needing to have the lyrics. They can really make the instruments sing and the emotions that filled all around us. One of my fav parts is their contagious smiles thought out all the videos. Thank you for sharing your musical talents/skills to the world and spreading love and joy to everyone in the world.โ
