Itโs essentially a fact: line dancing and good times go hand-in-hand.
Iโm not sure Iโve ever seen someone line dance and not have fun, honestly.
These 12 cowgirls certainly know how to have a good time.

But what exactly is line dancing? Have you ever been?
Well, historians and scholars still debate the formโs origins but evidence suggests line dancing grew out of styles from continental Europe, eventually evolving over time in American culture. Evidently, disco may have been the first genre to truly popularize the line dance. Now, itโs more associated with country music.

Line dancing has become a popular art form recognized and performed across the globe. The styleโs inclusive of everyone and certainly doesnโt require technical mastery to have fun!
Itโs a relatively simple dance involving lines or rows of groups performing the same choreography generally to a catchy pop-country song.
Guitars, cow boots, and cow hats are certainly welcome.

These dozen cowgirl dancers are ready to perform an outstanding, fun line dance to Alan Jacksonโs 1992 hit โChattahoochee.โ
The twelve are broken up into three rows of four dancers each.

Each member sports a plaid, button-up white tee and tight blue jeans. The black cowgirl hats add the perfect country cherry on top, bringing the entire ensemble together.
These cowgirls line up. Then, Alan Jacksonโs hit sounds through the speakers.

The dancers move to the rhythm, clicking and stepping their boots to the groove.
They arenโt half bad! The crowd absolutely loves it. But wait, theyโve got more in store!
The group slides into a flurry of playful moves.
These ladies are reminding us what itโs like to have a good time.

โChattahoocheeโ is a modern pop-country classic. In fact, the Internet is riddled with line dance videos to Jacksonโs hit, and for good reason โ itโs an incredibly danceable tune!
Upon releasing his opus, Jackson won country music awards for both single and song of the year.

Jacksonโs country hit continues with the dancing dozen aligned, in-step.
โYeah way down yonder on the Chattahoochee
Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me
But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was
A lot about livinโ and a little โbout love.โ
Perhaps the best aspect of their dance comes from the sheer joy theyโre having. After the first chorus, the dancers proceed to clap hands to the beat, each sporting a wide grin.

The choreography isnโt particularly technically masterful โ this isnโt a Michael Jackson performance โ but these dancing cowgirls are clearly having a great time while still showing off some slick moves!
Another round of turning and boot-tapping commences to โChattahoochee.โ The crowdโs obviously overjoyed!
But soon enough, Alan Jacksonโs hit comes to a conclusion along with our smooth steppers.

These dancers are certainly fleet-footed! Alan Jackson would be proud. Theyโre having tons of fun with their friends and looking great doing it!
Iโm actually kind of jealous. I havenโt been dancing in a while. Once the pandemic stabilizes maybe Iโll lace up my dancing shoes! We could all certainly use a vacation in the countryside.
That barely sunlit sky looks sublime.

Do you feel the need to get up and line dance like I do? Line dancingโs certainly an incredible dance style, featuring some fun for everyone. The dances are easy to learn and great for friends and family bonding. Plus, the musicโs incredibly catchy!
