In a few short weeks, the one holiday everyone’s been waiting for will be here. That’s right, Christmas is just around the corner. People are busy buying gifts, baking goodies, trimming the tree, and decorating the house.
It’s a festive time of the year when everything goes according to plan. Or at least it should. But as you’re about to discover, even the best-laid plans don’t always work out the way people expect.
What’s wrong with hanging a baby Jesus ornament on the Christmas tree? Well, nothing. Except when a dad thought one that resembled a severed thumb was holiday-appropriate.
What a cool idea. Fill balloons with water and food coloring, set them outside, and when frozen, remove the latex. This is how one family’s ice marbles turned out…nothing like the photo.
Especially with kids in the house, you have to get creative when hiding the Christmas presents. Ah, the attic. Oops, this dad missed the wood beam.
From the back, these Santa lounging pants are adorable. From the front? Yeah, not so much.
With cats, this individual found a cool wall tree on Pinterest. So, they decided that’s what they’d do. Let’s just say one of these isn’t like the other.
Not only is this gift bad but it’s also cruel. The person on the receiving end was probably ecstatic. But that was quickly followed up with massive disappointment.
Someone needs to tell this mall employee they’re supposed to unwrap the Christmas tree after taking it out of storage. There is another option. Spray paint it green but only after putting the ornaments on the outside.
What better way to start Christmas morning than with Rudolph the Red-Nosed pancakes? Simply follow the instructions. They’ll look just like the photo.
This person went all out making an incredible Christmas dinner. But there was just one problem. He should’ve replaced the wobbly table before serving it.
10. Beautiful Christmas lights
Parents tell their kids they’re going to drive around and look at lights. It’ll be fun they said. Unfortunately, they had no clue that this year, the city decided to hang up twinkling underwear.
11. Deceptive advertising
A lot of people are picky about their Christmas trees. They want exactly the right one. This tree was perfect until the individual took it out of the box.
In most households, parents give their kids several small items and one main gift. There are two positive things about this. First, he didn’t get a lump of coal. Second, he now has glasses to fill with whiskey to help drown his sorrows.
As you can see, this Christmas sweater is too small. Now what’s she going to do? There’s no way she can try it on to show everyone how it looks. How embarrassing.
This person had family coming over and wanted to impress them with her sugar cookies. At least she tried. Maybe they taste better than they look.
15. Hate it when that happens
Yup…that’s a mess. Here’s a little word of advice. If you give someone a hoverboard for Christmas, insist they use it outside.
Stores around the country have Santa’s for the kids to meet. Well, it seems the jolly fellow took a vacation. So, he asked his best friend the “bumble” to step in. Depending on the child, this could be good or bad.
…or it was four hours ago when the turkey should’ve come out of the oven. You have to wonder what the neighbors thought. You know, when everyone from the fire department showed up.
That’s what this woman is going to have to claim to be for a while. All she wanted was to smell good when guests arrived. Those darn bath bombs.
19. Just what they wanted
For months, one kid had given his parents hint after hint as to what he wanted for Christmas. Yep, a cell phone. Next year, he might want to be a little bit more specific.
Without the picture of what this is supposed to look like there’d be no way to tell. It might be a log cake. But it looks like an entirely different kind of log.
You see, this woman fell while at a gathering with her family. So, her mom took her to the emergency room. That’s when she learned her daughter had two parts of her body pierced.
22. When you have to improvise
The staff at a doctor’s office was having a Christmas party. But they didn’t have a tree. So, they came up with this brilliant (snicker) idea.
That’s what these reindeer cookies look like. We have just one question. How did they miss the mark so much when they used cookie cutters?
It’s too bad this family doesn’t have a dog. That way, the kitty could blame it on the other four-legged critter in the house. It wouldn’t matter… that cat’s face has “guilty” written all over it.
Isn’t Christmas supposed to be a joyous time? If it was just an oversized ornament, it’d be nice. But with that head on top of it? It’s scary.
Hopefully, the person who tried to replicate the Christmas tree cake on the left threw theirs out before the guests arrived. One look at that and everyone would be nauseated. Baking just isn’t this individual’s forte.
27. One less person for dinner
A husband tried to do a good deed and it didn’t go as planned. All he wanted was to put lights on the house. Instead, he’s recuperating in the hospital.
We’re guessing the individual who lives in this house is an IT guru. Otherwise, why would they make a wreath like this? It’s a little strange but they get kudos for thinking outside of the box.
What happened? The Santa Claus on the box looks so happy and cheerful. Out of the box, he’s enough to give children and adults alike nightmares for the rest of their lives.
A man wanted to give his dog an advent calendar as a surprise. Well, it was the pup that surprised his owner. It was the thought that counted, right?
By spirit, we mean the kind you drink. It looks as though someone celebrated Christmas a little too much. And this was the result.
Often, family and friends play games when they get together for the holidays. This is a new one. Here’s a hint, it’s supposed to look like the photo on the left.
One of the many things that millions of people love about Christmastime is the snow. But this person had recently moved from a state where the white stuff never falls. Closing the windows is a tough lesson to learn.
This cat is trying her best to convince her owners that the tree was like that. Obviously, they don’t know how to pick out a decent Christmas tree. They see right through your ridiculous excuse, kitty.
Someone else try it and let us know. First, it doesn’t look anything like the example photo. Second, it appears as though half of the ingredients are missing.
This individual ordered a snow globe online from Target. And after waiting what seemed like a lifetime, it finally arrived. The company even included a bonus for them being so patient.
The person who bought these ornaments thought it was a real bargain. After all, they got four at a great price. Unfortunately, one of them is invisible.
38. Hard work for nothing
With so much going on during the Christmas holiday, accidents are bound to happen. But the entire dish? Maybe it’s salvageable…probably not.
39. Rudolph the gold-wrapped bunny?
This is so wrong. It’s apparent the company that made this has its holidays mixed up. Then again, maybe Santa wanted to try something new. Who knows, perhaps rabbits get better gas mileage.
After opening her Christmas gift, a woman thought her long-term boyfriend was finally going to propose. But then she discovered the truth. After learning this was nothing more than the handle on a coffee mug, what do you want to bet she said “no.”
The likeness is uncanny. There’s only one thing to say. It’s a really good thing that Reese’s is so dang good.
Remember, the one who tattles is usually the culprit. At Christmas, cats are worse than kids. So, if you’re going to own them, you better get to used to things like this.
43. Too painful to look at
A mom bought this adorable guy for her child. At first, it looked normal. But then she realized his eyelashes are on the inside of his eyes. Good luck explaining that to the child.
Wanting to impress the in-laws, this lady made her famous spaghetti. Well, that didn’t go as planned. Let’s hope they like pizza.
45. They almost got it right
Oops…the company that made these was just a little off. Here’s an idea. If this individual uses them for decorations when their friends who enjoy drinking come over, no one will even notice.

This family really wanted a white Christmas. And they got it. The only issue…they’ll be homebound for months.

If this person had only added a few more cookies, they would’ve had it. Okay, not really. It’s time to give up.
48. Preparing for a feast
In preparation for a lovely Christmas lunch with the family, this individual went to the store to get Pepsi. But they forgot to take it inside. This was their surprise the next morning. It seems as though the soda rebelled for having to stay out in the cold.
The woman on the left is confident. She’s certain her giant snowman cookie will turn out beautifully. The same woman on the right looks completely defeated. And what is that thing crawling out of the body?
50. It would’ve been an incredible Christmas
Seriously, what are the odds of this happening? Probably greater than winning the lottery itself. This person should get some kind of consolation prize.
Even though they’re now older, these two brothers get along quite well. But by the look on their mom’s face, something’s wrong. Oh, it’s just the tree starting to fall over.
Look at that. This woman wanted to meet a great man and according to her Christmas fortune cookie, she will. And he’s an athlete. Can’t beat that.
Not very many people can say they put on a fireworks display for Christmas inside their house.
Something is disturbing about eating ice cream that stares back at you. In this case, it seems as though it can read every thought. We think they should’ve served a different dessert…one without eyes.
Next Christmas, perhaps someone else should get the tree. The dad in this family waited until the last minute. And it shows.
Poor Mr. Claus. He’s had a very long day. This couple hoped for a sweet photo of them with the man himself. But look at Santa’s face…it looks plastic. This didn’t turn out cute at all.
In today’s world, everyone moves at supersonic speed. That includes this baker who didn’t think there was anything wrong with making Christmas sweets before Halloween. They thought putting a ghost in the middle made it okay. And they wondered why no on bought them.
58. What was she thinking?
A wife thought it was a good idea to use light-up yard decorations. And she was right. But green dinosaurs in Christmas attire? That didn’t go over very well. Now, all the neighbors think she’s weird.
59. Sending a wrong message
We’re not sure what the message is but it’s definitely wrong. By the way? Did you know that Santa Claus and the three wise men knew each other? Yeah, we didn’t either.
After all, the city decorated a bunch of palm trees for Christmas. How nice. What a great place to take the family to look at the holiday lights.
