Now that we are all on what feels like day 500 of self-isolation, weird things are happening. People all around the globe are giving themselves bad haircuts, baking so much sourdough bread, and taking on somewhat strange and random DIY projects. One of the latest strange DIY projects lately is crocheted couches… For cats.
Yep, cat owners all over the world are bored, so they figure, why not crochet a couch for my cat? (Try saying that five times fast.) Turns out, a lot of people are jumping on the newfound bandwagon and we have to say the result is pretty hilarious.
Check out some of the best mini kitten couches we’ve seen so far.
1. Took four months
“It took 4 months but it finally happened,” this Reddit user shared. “My cat actually sat in the sofa I crocheted for her.” The cat was probably a little weary (a mini couch made by her very own momma!) but it finally happened. Congrats.
2. Bit the bullet
This cat lover finally decided to bite the bullet and make her cat a couch. We’re glad she did because it’s great. Her cat looks really happy about it, too.
3. Creative
This person got creative with their couch placement. “Cat couches don’t have to just go on the floor,” they shared via Instagram. “Simba is enjoying lounging on his, high up where he’s out of reach of the ever exciteful Artemis the husky pup.”
4. Enthusiastic kitty
This cat is so enthusiastic about their couch that is in the midst of being made. They’re so excited, they’re jumping all over it! Must be hard for the person making it, ha.
5. Couch party
If you have more than one cat, why not have a party? Make a couch big enough and you can fit a bunch of social cats on there for a comfy time!
6. Cookie Dough approves
Cookie Dough is lucky. They got a really big couch all to themselves! According to their owner, they approve — and we can see why.
7. Spoiled
There is no doubt this cat is spoiled. Do you see that beautiful pattern on the couch and the mini pillows to go along with it? A lot of thought and effort was put into this and it’s so cute.
8. A place to relax
“I got this pattern to make a crocheted kitty couch and my cat Callie really likes it as you can see,” this proud owner shared. “She relaxing and watching the birdies outside the patio door.” Looks pretty relaxing!
9. Special pattern
This person used a special pattern from a bundle pack. “I think #jillyboo is quite pleased with my work and It warms my heart that she’s sleeping on it,” she wrote. “I skipped the skirt, but will be making some #catnip infused throw #pillows. All I’m saying…. #coffeecatscrochet is life for this girl.”
10. A pleasant surprise
“I didn’t expect my cat would ever sit on my completed cat couch, but when I woke up the next morning, he had already found it,” this person shared. If that’s not the best surprise ever, we’re not sure what is!
11. It’s only fair
This person figured that if they were home and sitting on the couch all day now, their cat should at least be able to do that too. That’s only fair! We love the way they think.
12. Couch and friends
Not only does this couch have a cute and comfy couch, but they are also surrounded by their stuffed animal friends. So cozy! And it looks like the couch offers a ton of leg room which is extra nice.
13. Sushi
This cat is named Sushi and she is really loving her new couch! It’s a nice neutral color too, so it will go with whatever color fur is relaxing on it.
14. Back-of-sofa granny ghan
This was made for her mom’s cat, which is so nice! “Sofa I made for my mom’s cat with the obligatory back-of-sofa granny-ghan,” they wrote. We’re into it.
15. Soup!
This cat’s name is Soup and she loves her brand-new couch! “I hope to make the other two patterns so each of my fur babes has one, but at the moment my attention is on my #amigurumipenguin,” Soup’s mama wrote.
16. Barkley
Barkley got a brand-new, bright orange couch and we have to say it’s pretty funky! He is clearly loving it more than ever.
17. Cute
This cat couch has some really nice colors going on. They’re almost calming in a strange way. This cat seems to be very happy and calm, so there’s proof!
18. Summer couch
This looks like the most joyful couch ever. It’s bright yellow, has a nice little ruffle on the bottom, and even a summery little couch pillow to go with it! What’s not to love?
19. Too small
This kitty clearly loves her brand-new, baby pink couch, except there’s one problem — it’s too small! You may not realize it, but cats’ legs are actually six feet long — and this one needs to stretch out.
20. Glad they’re using it
This kitty mom says she’s just glad her cat is actually using the couch, but why wouldn’t they? It looks so comfy and cats love comfy things.
21. Lounge kitty
This couch looks huge! If we were this kitten, we would definitely lounge for days.
22. Good job mom
“My mom crocheted a couch for her cat!” This person shared. She definitely deserves the Mom of the Year Award!
23. Movie cat
This cat is sitting back, very relaxed on the couch. What’s fitting is that she’s backed by a shelf of movies. She should definitely watch a couple while she takes it easy.
24. Cat… cave?
This isn’t so much a couch as it is a cave and we are very into it. What’s cozier than laying on a couch? Crawling inside of one!
25. Coziest
This is definitely the ideal couch. How cozy does it look? Because it’s circular, you can get really warm and snuggly. 10/10.
26. Peek-a-boo
This little kitty is so relaxed they’re like, “Oh hello! Didn’t see you there from all the way up here!”
27. Hangin’ out
This cat is so comfortable, one of their arms is literally dangling off of the couch. They look so cool doing it too, with that beautiful blue and green pattern behind them on the couch!
28. What cat wouldn’t love this?
To have your own bed… Isn’t that the dream for every cat? This looks like the ultimate dream.
29. Vintage vibes
This mini couch has such vintage vibes. Like it just came out of grandma’s basement… But in a chic way!
30. You don’t even need a cat
If you’re looking at these and you’re like, “Wow, I want one but I don’t have a cat,” we say go make one anyway! There are super cute on their own!
