Every young woman dreams of walking down the aisle on their wedding day. Chelsie Hill was no different but a tragic car accident in 2010 paralyzed her from the waist down.
Chelsie was in high school when she got into a car with a friend who was drunk. The car hit a tree head-on.

Chelsie began dancing at 3 and went on to compete at 5 years old. At 17, doctors told her she would never walk again.
So in 2012, Hill founded Rollettes. Itโs a wheelchair dance group in Los Angeles meant to show people that โdance is dance, whether youโre walking or rolling.โ

And now at 29, Chelsie prepared to walk down the aisle in a beautiful wedding dress to surprise 34-year-old Jay Bloomfield.
This has been her dream and she was going to walk down the aisle no matter what.
Using leg braces and a walker thatโs been covered in white fabric, her custom bridal gown made by Galia Lahav featured a removable skirt so moving from a standing to seating position would โt be difficult.

The couple met in 2014. On September 24, 2021, the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach saw Jay and Chelsie exchange vows.
But Bloomfield had no idea his bride had something special in store for him.
โI want to stress that thereโs nothing wrong with sitting down in your chair,โ Chelsie told Insider. โBut for me growing up, I always imagined myself walking down the aisle.โ
โAnd I just wanted to feel that โ not that my disability has taken anything away from me โ but I just wanted to feel that heart to heart and stand up there eye to eye with him,โ she added. โThat was just really something really important to me personally.โ

Jay had his back turned so he wouldnโt see Chelsieโs initial entrance. It was just the way she planned it.
โI lost it. It took everything in me just to keep standing. Iโm an emotional guy, and when I saw her, I was just blown away,โ Jay recalled.

Chelsie walked down the aisle with her father, fulfilling a childhood dream and bringing everyone in attendance to tears.
โAfter my accident, I wasnโt sure if I would ever find someone who truly loved all of me. You have accepted me fully, honored me, and adored all the parts of me,โ Chelsie addressed Jay in her vows.
โFor this moment today, I wanted to do something I had always dreamed of. Stand eye to eye with you as we promise our lives to each other.โ She continued.

And true to her dance roots, Chelsea and her dad surprised guests with a fun-filled father-daughter dance during the reception.

Father and daughter started the dance slow before a medley of upbeat hits like Soulja Boyโs โCrank That,โ MC Hammerโs โU Canโt Touch This,โ and Bruno Marsโ โUptown Funkโ had the duo raising the tempo.

Then came the first dance between the newly married couple. Using her braces, Chelsie danced with Jay making the evening a truly memorable one for all involved. It was the most special of evenings.
