A lot of people enjoy shopping at yard sales, flea markets, and thrift stores.
You never know what you might find, and the mystery is part of the fun. One woman recently found a beautiful blue ornament that she absolutely couldn’t resist.
She thought it would make the perfect addition to her home, and there was something about it that just pulled her in. When she found out that the store was only asking $2.99 for the beautiful decoration, she couldn’t pass it up. She was excited to get it home and show it to her daughter, who also loves a good deal.
Priscilla Bailey was first attracted to the ornament when she was shopping for some Christmas décor.
She loved how it caught the light and for some reason, she couldn’t stop staring at it. She described the ornament, saying:
“Right up here on the top, right across the top, it looks like angels or Vikings. They look like little angels, and there’s all this work down here. It’s really beautiful.”
She added:
“Right now, it’s hanging up there when I do my dishes. I sometimes stare at it.”
While the ornament was hanging in her home, she noticed that when it caught the light she could see something inside.
She grabbed a flashlight and decided to inspect it closer.
“It’s small. The two spots in it are small, the size of a golf ball.”
But what could it be? According to Bailey, she thinks it might be an urn with someone’s ashes inside. She and her daughter are now trying to find out whose ashes it could be. Bailey admitted that she was shocked by it at first, but now that she has accepted what it could be, she wants to do the right thing.
“At first, I got spooked, for a second. But then, it’s been in the house all this time — a couple of weeks now — and it needs to find its owner!”
Her daughter, Kat Bartlett, added:
“It’s beautiful. It must have a story, so that’s my goal — to find out where and who this belongs to.”
Until someone comes forward and claims the piece, Bailey plans on taking care of it and displaying it in her home.
She is excited about finding out who it might belong to. She thinks that she was meant to find the ornament because an unseen force knew she would care for it and help it find its owners.
“It’ll be fun seeing what happens and hopefully someone comes forward and says yes that was my grandmother or grandfather. I just thought it was pretty, so maybe it was meant to come here.”
Bailey hopes that her story will get the word out about the ornament.
She also hopes that anyone who comes forward to claim it is being honest and will share the story of it with her and her daughter. Until then, she will keep it safe inside her home.
What kind of stories does this ornament have? Who could it have belonged to? Hopefully, someone claims it, so it can find its way back to where it belongs.
