With how busy people are these days, it’s not surprising why most of them prefer ordering things online. It’s an easy, convenient, and quick way to buy something without leaving one’s home. Unfortunately, ordering online comes with risks.
From getting the wrong size to receiving a completely different product, you have to be prepared for the worst with online shopping. Lowering your expectations can spare you some of the heartaches in case you don’t get the product you want.
To prove that online shopping is a gamble, here are 50 people whose online shopping experience didn’t go as they expected.
1. Attractive AirBnb
Be careful when booking trips online. Make sure that the Airbnb you’re planning to stay in can actually accommodate you and your family.
2. The pool
It’s hard not to feel bad for this guy. Instead of having a nice full-size pool, the place he’s staying at only features a small portable pool. It was a good thing that he didn’t bring his inflatables.
3. The bag
He found a bag he really likes online. Unfortunately, when it came in, he figured that the bag wasn’t meant for him. It’s so small that it can only fit his cat.
4. A bucket of candy
This guy felt excited after being told that he’ll be getting a bucket of candy. However, when he got his hands on the “bucket”, it turned out to be just a small cup.
5. Too small to be a rug
This person should have double-checked the product before checking out. It’s supposed to be a chair cover and not a rug.
6. Horror
This woman spent $60 to get her makeup done for Halloween. However, instead of getting the same look as the model in her chosen picture, she ended up looking like she drank a liter of blood. This is one good reason why you should never completely trust online reviews.
7. Dimensions
Always check the dimensions of any item you’re planning to buy online. Also, you shouldn’t completely trust the pictures that come with it.
8. Missing green beans
This man was shocked when he opened this can. Instead of getting green beans, he found diced tomatoes inside. I guess someone was playing around at work.
9. Window seat
This guy paid extra to get the window seat. When he got on the plane, he was shocked to see no window. He had to draw one out of disappointment.
10. Packaging
A lot of people would buy this in a heartbeat thinking that there’s a really big jar of Nutella inside. In reality, the packaging is meant to hold a jar of Nutella, a table mat, and a spreader.
11. Motor boots
If you’re thinking of buying motor boots online, always check the reviews first. Clearly, the boots on the right offer no protection when riding. They look more like rain boots.
12. Not cute
This stuffed toy looks like it went through a hard time during shipping. With matted fur, it’s barely recognizable.
13. Scary
This doesn’t look like a bear mask. If you ask me, it looks more like a werewolf mask you get for Halloween.
14. Not so chunky blanket
A mother ordered this blanket for her daughter who’s going away for college. She thought her child would feel less lonely if she has a nice blanket she could snuggle with. Unfortunately, with the size of this blanket, she’d be lucky if she could fit her legs in it.
15. Disappointed cat
The cat couldn’t believe what’s he’s seeing. That’s probably the smallest scratching post he’s ever seen his entire life.
16. Not Deadpool
Well, this isn’t that terrible. The person who ordered this had a great laugh so it’s not entirely bad.
17. Rick Sanchez doll
This Rick Sanchez doll looks traumatized. It probably has something to do with his hair. It’s awful.
18. Not the same
The concept was great. The execution, on the other hand, was a completely different story. The shoes look nothing alike.
19. A bit small
The things you can do with this sink are quite limited. In fact, it’s so small that you can only wash one hand at a time.
20. The new bathroom rug
Apart from the wrong size, the rug is in a different color, too. I hope this woman was able to return it and get a refund. It’s clearly not the same rug!
21. A $600 Apple watch
With $600, this person should have gone straight to an Apple store. Ebay’s not the best place to get an Apple watch.
22. A desk lamp
This desk lamp is way smaller than a phone. I wonder why it’s even called a desk lamp in the first place. Calling it a toy lamp would be better.
23. A jacket
This woman ordered a jacket but it never arrived. Instead, she received this product on her doorstep. The most absurd part? Target doesn’t even have this on their inventory.
24. Spot the difference
At first glance, you wouldn’t think that there’s nothing wrong with this person’s order. However, when you take a closer look, you’d spot a famous Spongebob character looking shocked.
25. A dress
Whoever made this dress probably forgot to sew the strings in place. She was probably in a hurry to deliver the dress that she decided to ship it even if it’s not yet finished.
26. Unicorn
When the family ordered this inflatable, they were expecting to receive something that resembles a unicorn. Unfortunately, they ended up with just a round inflatable. Somewhere along the trip, the unicorn decided to escape.
27. A 1/2 inch solenoid valve
Instead of his order, this man received an enormous teddy bear. Although he didn’t receive his 1/2 inch solenoid valve, he wasn’t too disappointed. He ended up with a teddy bear he could play games with.
28. That pocket
If you’re a perfectionist, this design can easily trigger your anxiety. Whoever made the jacket should have just left the pocket out.
29. “Baby doll”
These are two totally different products. The fur and even the baby don’t look the same. Even the color of the chain doesn’t match.
30. Ordered vs what arrived
There’s nothing more disappointing than receiving a totally different product from what you ordered. In this case, a woman bought a piece of fabric but ended up with a pair of slippers. You see, even the Minions look confused.
31. Socks
This had me laughing so hard. The socks look like a pair of pantyhose on the man’s leg. The way Rick’s face was stretched out made it look even funnier.
32. Tiny pan
Despite its size, the pan is functional. If fried eggs are your only recipe at home, you won’t find yourself complaining about this one. You just have to be patient if you need several fried eggs.
33. A new chair for the bedroom
This woman felt excited after seeing this chair. She immediately ordered it, thinking it would fit her room really well. Turns out, it’s a perfect fit for a dollhouse. The chair’s just the same size as her hand.
34. The message
The person who made this patch suddenly had a change of heart. From believing, he decided that he’s had enough. He must have been waiting a long time for that UFO to land and get him.
35. A pillow for the girlfriend
This man thought it would be nice to order a pillow of himself for his girlfriend. Although the idea was sweet, the outcome was a total nightmare. His girlfriend is bound to have bad dreams if she sleeps with this pillow beside her.
36. A DIY blanket
Ordering something online is always a risk and this product proves that. Instead of getting a nice and soft blanket, this person ended up with oversize yarn. He needs to make the blanket on his own.
37. A unique face mask
This is one weird face mask. Even if the woman stretches it out, there’s no way it would cover her face completely.
38. A little disappointing
The photo’s quite misleading. The woman must have been super small for the tiny pillow to look big next to her.
39. All left
This serves as an important lesson. You see, when ordering shoes online, getting the right size isn’t the most important part. You also need to make sure you’re getting a pair.
40. A graphic tee
The man bought the shirt because of its design. Unfortunately, the graphic was too small on the actual shirt. It’s not even centered!
41. A dress
With those muscles, it would be nice to flex them with a muscle shirt. This man could do the same thing with the dress he received but he’ll have to flex harder. It’s not that easy to look strong and masculine when you’re wearing a dress.
42. A different message
The messages aren’t even close. The second one doesn’t mention anything about driving.
43. Rings
As much as possible, don’t shop for rings online, particularly if you’re doing it for the first time. You might end up experiencing the same thing as this guy. Instead of full-sized rings, he ended up with super tiny ones.
44. A different story
Most online shopping fails involve people getting really small products. This woman got lucky and found herself unboxing an enormous dustpan from Amazon.
45. Wrong size
This woman doesn’t look too happy with the clothes she received from Amazon. They’re clearly not her size.
46. The alien balloons
The label’s not too misleading. Indeed, those are supersized alien balloons. They just forgot to make the eyes big, too.
47. A tall teddy bear
This teddy bear experienced a growth spurt on its way to this man’s home. His legs were about 4-feet when he arrived.
48. A special vinyl
This person was so happy when she found this vinyl. She got too excited that she forgot to check the details. The vinyl was actually made for a dollhouse.
49. The size of this rug
It looks like this mom won’t be using the rug in her living room. It’s too small to cover the area.
50. A dinosaur pillowcase
The seller didn’t lie when she posted the ad for this pillowcase. Kids, dinosaur, pillowcase- you’ll get every single one of them when you order the product. Yes, the kid’s included in the design.
