While many of us complain about life’s troubles, which is completely normal, most of us are lucky enough to have our health and the ability to provide for ourselves and our family under reasonable circumstances.

Even when life throws some extra curve balls at us, we find a way to press on.

Some may see the circumstance that Allan Aguilar finds himself in as quite unreasonable or even impossible. Nonetheless, he persists so that he can provide for his family.

Aguilar is from the island of Mindanao in the Philippines and has only a first-grade education. His father made him quit school to work instead, collecting the stems of a palm plant to make woven furniture with.

Aguilar ended up losing his leg one day when he was venturing into the mountains to collect wood. He injured his foot and since his parents were too poor to treat his injury, his foot and part of his leg had to be cut off.

Still, Aguilar continued to work. While many people pitied him, some people, like his brother-in-law, taunted him over the loss of his limb.

He was bullied so bad that he was moved to Leyte by his concerned aunts, Trending News Portal writes. Now, Aguilar carries a giant 110 pack of pack of bananas on his back every day to make a 3-mile journey just to earn money for his family. All while holding a crutch to prop him up.
