When professional ice skater Adam Nadas and his friend dressed up as old men recently, they had one thing in mind — to completely shock everyone at the ice rink.
The costumes were part of an elaborate prank that the two guys had put together.
Both of them were done up by makeup artists to look like men in their seventies, complete with matching gray mustaches, gray hair, glasses, and winter wool coats.
The only thing significantly different between the two’s costumes were their hats.
One wore a brown one and the other a white one so people could tell them apart.
The two then put on their pairs of ice skates and headed down to the rink.
As they hobbled over towards the ice, onlookers would have had no reason to suspect that they weren’t the old men that they were pretending to be. Their movements were slow tired. As they approached the others skating, the men even flagged down a young boy to help them take off their skate guards.
The whole thing was pretty hilarious to watch, especially since as viewers, we knew the truth about what was actually going on.
Adam and his friend had a lot of fun with the whole prank. At one point, they even pretended to fall down while slowly skating around. Adam then enlisted some young people in the immediate area to help him back up.
Shortly after is when the best part of the prank began.
After firmly establishing that they were old men who barely knew how to skate, the two went to the center of the rink and began to show off their true skills. They started by simply ice skating backward — a pretty difficult feat in its own right and it definitely caught the attention of those around them.
Soon, a crowd started to gather and that’s when they really decided to ramp up the intensity. They started doing all kinds of insane stuff like skating around backward close to the ground on one leg and doing a sophisticated on-ice dance routine.
The crowd couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Just minutes earlier the old men were falling down and barely able to stand up on the ice and now they were doing tricks? The other skaters were totally shocked.
However, the biggest shock came when the guys did a set of synchronized backflips.
By that point, there were dozens of people circled around them. The two men skated to get their speed up and then launched into massive flips that appeared as though they defied the laws of gravity.
Everyone’s jaws dropped.
Some even pulled out their phones to record the performance. It was the type of show that people would typically pay good money to go see, yet here were two men putting on a show out on the public ice rink for free. The whole time, no one suspected that they were actually much younger. Or at least if they did, we never found out about it.
All in all, it was one of the coolest pranks we’ve seen. There’s no denying the fact that the two guys are incredibly skilled. However, only time will tell how age will really affect their abilities. As of now, they are simply amazing, and we can only hope that when they do turn 70, they are still skating just as good!
