Seniors in high school and college were technically supposed to graduate recently. They still did, but it didnโt go exactly how they imagined it would. No real-life graduation with the after party, no one to hand them their degree in person, no friends or family to celebrate withโฆ Not exactly ideal.
The school situation has been tough for everyone involved as we close out a very challenging school year.
There couldnโt be any graduation ceremonies, but that doesnโt mean that they couldnโt show some love.
Instead of getting all down and sad about it, these dedicated bus drivers in Ohio decided to acknowledge the studentsโ hard work and show them some love while still maintaining social distance.
The bus drivers were not told to do this for their high school seniors โ they just decided to do it themselves purely because they wanted to. If that isnโt the sweetest thing everโฆ We are not sure what is.
The Loveland High Schoolโs transportation department decided to coordinate 22 of their buses to spell out the year โ2020โ when viewed from above for an epic video.
They planned everything out perfectly.
Loveland Highโs art and photography teacher, Jim Barrett, used an aerial drone to capture the above shot of the buses. As the shot slowly zoomed out, it showed the โ2020โ and the bus drivers waving up to the sky for a very dramatic and cool vibe!
Then the school posted the video clip to their social media so that they could use it to pay homage to all 392 of graduating students. Many of the students have known the drivers since grade school, which makes the sweet gesture even more special.
โSome of us have been around long enough to transport these kids since kindergarten, and some of us have only been working with the district for a few years, but the one thing we all have in common is the love for our students,โ said Loveland bus driver Jennifer Bloom Bowman.
โThis is a huge accomplishment and anyway we can show them some love, we will do it. So hereโs to the Class of 2020. Your bus drivers are proud of all of you.โ
โThe love for our students is unconditional and each one will always hold a special place in our hearts. Every story, every hug, every laugh and every tear with them are memories and sometimes even lessons. To the kids of the past, the present and the future, this is for you!โ Bus driver Michele Winter added.
The video has garnered thousands of views on social media, but that is not why the video was originally made. The bus drivers simply wanted to pay homage to their beloved students in any way that they could. This was a pretty impressive way to do it!
They may not have gotten an in-person ceremony, but the effort and passion that was put into this video is clear. And they still got to have closure with their beloved drivers.
